Airport advice, please

Hi! I have an airport question for the DL vets. I am assuming the Santa Ana (SNA) is the closest airport to DL. LAX is supposed to b the next closest airport. Is this corect? How long does it take to get to DL from each of these airports assuming that I am using SupperShuttle or the Airport Bus?

We used Long Beach airport. We had a rental car, but I don't think it took more than 30 minutes from DL.

Let me just say, this airport is kinda scary looking. No, VERY scary looking. It's almost like the Tower of Terror. Looks like it got hit by lightning in the 50's and has been frozen in time.

However, the service was good, our plane departed on time and JetBlue flies in and out of there - and I don't think I'll ever fly another airline after flying with them. They rock.

We always fly in and out of John Wayne (SNA) and love it. It isn't a very big airport so it is very easy to get around. We rent a car and I think it is no more than 20-30 minutes.

I have used Supershuttle from both airports..

SNA takes about 20- 30 minutes depending on how many other drops needed.

LAX takes at least 45 minutes (hair raising- traffic- speeding- minutes ) or a an hour (yawn -take a nap- boring ride -until you get closer to Anaheim )

Thanks for the replies. Here is the reason I ask. I can fly from here (Duluth, MN) to LAX for about $325.00. Flying into SNA will cost $400.00. Is it worth the extra $$$ to fly into SNA? Or should I go with LAX?

Hi neighbor!! I grew up in Duluth and most of my family is still there.

Overpriced Northwest as your only choice coming out of Duluth is such a bummer .

Have you considered driving to the Cities? Take a day at Mall of America before you go- stay and park at a hotel while you are gone ($60 - $80) or Park and Fly ($40 for a week) - save yourself $100 - $200 per plane ticket.

I got lucky and have tickets using America West into SNA for $180 in May.

American Airlines (nicer airlines than America WEST/WORST) runs about $200+ into LAX.

I usually look at
How much does the shuttle cost me from each airport? (For a family of four it adds up fast!)
How many days do I have at the parks? What time of day am I arriving?

If I did not plan to go to parks on day of arrival I would keep my $75 and go with LAX. (use the $75 towards Fantasmic buffet )

Late in morning arrival and plan to go to park-- SNA.

I could go to the Cities, but I would rather leave from here. Is the Fantasmic buffet worth it? How many days do you think I'll need for the park? I'm debating between 2 and 3?
