I am taking my granddaughter today on Southwest. She will get going to Disney for the 1st time tomorrow. She will have a DAS due to some anxiety and sensory issue. I had my daughter write out a note for me so that I could hand it to them also with her therapists note and just say I would answer any questions that they have. But I went to counter agent at gate and asked if we could preboard for the same issues, so that she would be overwhelmed waiting and in line, and they did let us preboard. So it went great. She got her window seat away from people and could watch the baggage load and no stressing out. Off to a great start, took off mostly on time. Watching the slo mo baggage handler, I think we would have been on time if he had any pep in his step. My granddaughter even commented, he moves really slow!

Just so you don't get surprised at guest services, but the CMs there will mostly likely refuse to read the therapist's note. I'd also make sure that the note your daughter wrote explains why your granddaughter can't wait in the standby queue. A note that just gives a diagnosis won't give the CM the words needed to issue a DAS, as DAS is not based on that. You'd need to explain why her anxiety and sensory issues require DAS. I hope you have a wonderful trip!
