Airplane acceptable battery charger?

I have found on United some of the plugs do not work. also sometimes you have to use. your own device and with seats past 21 they don't have outlets unless you have the newer version of the screen that does have a usb charger. which I love!

Just wanted to add a note that this also applies to gate-checked baggage.

If you will be travelling on a small commuter jet and need to gate-check your carryon bag, be sure that your spare battery is in a handy spot to be grabbed, because you need to take it out of the bag before passing it over to the baggage crew. I bought some little mesh drawstring bags on Amazon to carry ours, being able to loop the drawstring around a finger or hook it on a biner is handy.

I also use Anker, and it's good to bring in a carry on. They only ask you remove it if your bag is gate checked and bring it in the cabin with you.
