Does airmiles use a certain airline? Have enough for one flight and looking at booking it for January - but not a clue on how it all works. Some help?

Have you gone on airmiles.ca. They will let you know what airlines fly from your area.

I always end up with Air Canada but they also fly with West Jet and North American. Their web site has lots of info. To actually book, you must talk to an agent though, their number is on the site. You have to pay the taxes on the flight. We use them all the time and I also bought one flight to Orlando this year and paid for the other 2. If you book the rest of your flights with them (not airmiles) they will charge you a booking fee of around 40.00 ea so best to call them, see what they have, then go to that airline and make sure they also have openings on that flight and book your paid flights yourself.

They are very helpful on the phone btw so feel free to call :)

I have contacted them in the past as I was trying to figure out if buying airline tickets or ParkHoppers with airmiles was a better deal - I went with the ParkHoppers at the time, however it looks like I will have enough to also get one of our flights paid for with Airmiles. The tax should be around $140/per airline ticket. I am hoping to book Westjet as they still seem to have availability for the dates/times I want. As SandyinCanada mentioned, I am also planning on booking my "non-airmiles" tickets myself.

Good luck!
