I was wondering what you prefer. I don't have to fly here, but I like Delta. US air is a close second. I don't like Jetblue or Southwest and I absolutely despise United. They're never on time and more often than not, you're stuck at the gate while they wait for repairs. So, how about all of you?

We are big fans of Delta. However what is right for you somewhat depends on where you are flying from/to. In general you may find it best to look for non-stop flights from your local airport to your destination.

Mostly we are stuck with Southwest, because we live very close to a main hub (so it’s the only option for most nonstops). I find it a fine choice, as most flights are only 2 hours that we do anyway. For our Hawaii trips (we’re on the East Coast), we have used either Delta or American. I won’t fly coach for that long any more at my age, so book lie flat seats. Next trip to Hawaii, I’m booking us nonstop with United in Polaris, although the airport for that flight is an hour away (Dulles). That’s our only option to go nonstop, and my first time trying United, so hopefully it will be pleasant. In normal times, I fly several times a year; this year I haven’t flown since January (and won’t until next summer at the earliest).

I really like Delta these days. United is ok for me. I strongly dislike American (just have bad experiences every time with them). Southwest I am pretty meh about.

I really miss Virgin America. Great service and entertainment was fantastic. Sadly after its merger with Alaska Airlines, they are not going to the places I want so much anymore (at least not direct).

When we're living somewhere with SW at our local airport (we're military so move often,) we generally fly mainly with SW. - I feel like there are more options for nonstops with them, which I've come to really prefer and it's easier to know the full price without having to look every fee up. The other really big advantage SW has for us is the ease of changing flights etc.

We have flown Delta in the last year or so and we really felt like they were a step up from the usual flights (I believe they handed out snacks -as does SW and also we had free tv/movies.)

I like Southwest for domestic flights, since they don't charge bag fees.

Add us to the list of Southwest loyalists They're almost always on time, we've had excellent customer service, and what really sealed the deal was when I travelled a few days after I fractured my pelvis, and I could barely move without intense pain Southwest's treatment was excellent

I love JetBlue but haven’t flown them the last few trips. We got SW credit cards & have had tons of points & a companion pass for 1 of us to fly free for the last few years. SW & JB are the only nonstops from our airport to Orlando so we stick with them. We have rarely have any problems. I can get flights for decent prices & customer service is pretty good.

Can I ask why you don’t like SW & JB?

Another southwest fan here too. We have a credit card, so we have so many points accrued, we will be flying for free for years. Why don’t you like southwest?

I've only been flying Frontier now for the past 6 years or so. Prices can't be beat and they have mostly nonstop flights to Orlando from this area while some of the bigger airlines seem to have the reverse with little to no nonstop flights. For 2 hours in the air I'm not interested in adding additional time with a stop anywhere. The flights themselves have been great. Staff are always friendly and helpful. I got their credit card a few years ago and was able to earn elite status this year which has great perks.

And it has the added bonus of being the only airline to fly out of a very small airport in our area that is so much easier to travel into and out of than the bigger international airports.

We used to fly Southwest quite a bit when PHL was their hub but since they moved the hub to Baltimore our flight choices are limited. Most of the time we use American because they have the most direct flights from PHL (hub). Although we have used Spirit out of Atlantic City or PHL without having any issues.

American Airlines. We have a VERY small local airport (WV) and other then Delta and United (which I have had very bad experiences when I HAD to take them) my go to airline is American. Since we are so small there is never any direct flights (other then Myrtle Beach seasonal) and I like Charlotte as my layover rather then Regan. I have points with American but never travel enough to use them before they expire so it's not really any added perk for us in that department. I WISH we could get Southwest or JetBlue. But for now to get on either of them we are looking at a 3 hr drive either north to Pittsburgh or West towards Columbus. With saying that our 2nd WDW trip we DID go SW and drove the 3 hours to the airport. After a LONG return day with being up at 5am to catch the magical express and then LONG layover AND THEN a 3 hour drive home, DH said "never again" he is willing to pa MORE not to have the 3 hr road trip added to a flight day! LOL

We are Delta fans. In the past 11 years we have also flown Sunwing (a Canadian airline), AirTran (which i believe was purchased by Southwest?), Jetblue, and Frontier.

We will not fly any airline with open seating, so Southwest is not an option for us. DH, at 6'4 and 300+ pounds, absolutely needs an aisle seat and more space/legroom so that affects our decisions as well.

Delta has been tops in service, by a long shot. We have the Skymiles platinum Amex so we able to earn free flights every year, just by using the card for our normal household purchases.

We also liked Jetblue, but in 2017 we moved to an area where they dont offer nonstop flights to MCO. Nonstops are also a must for us. Even while we enjoyed our Jetblue flights, it would be hard for us to go with any other carrier besides Delta now that we have become used to their multiple schedule options and excellent service.

I do the same thing! I use my AMEX for EVERY purchase instead of a debit card. I haven't paid for a First Class seat on Delta in five years, saving me an average of $600 a flight. VERY worth the $99 annual fee. 😍

Unfortunately American is pretty much it for us here out of PHL. We used to fly Southwest but there flight times stink now.
