Hey what airlines have you used?
We are traveling out of Buffalo but we don't even know where to begin when looking for cheap air tickets? Any suggestions would be great :goodvibes

I believe most easterners use SWA and the ding thing...oh ya jet blue too...I am from Calgary so we cannot fly out of the US .....too far to drive....we are flying Air Canada because we got a deal...I get such a kick out of the people on this board who go on and on and on about supporting the Canadian economy(blah blah blah) but those are the first ones to scoop up a cheap US flight as soon as they come out! Hey as far as I am concerned we work darn hard for our money and the more money left over at the end means more fun for me and my family! It appears most savvy air shoppers fly out of Buffalo down there on SWA...ok done now LOL

LOL thanks. The more money saved the better to heck with the Canadian economy, the more money saved, the more i have to spend at Disney World. lol

Out of BUF, try
www.southwest.com (sign up for DING)
www.airtran.com
www.jetblue.com

I prefer Southwest since you can rebook if a lower rate comes out and not have to pay a penalty . Also Southwest offers several non-stop flights. I believe airtran offers a few non stops per week, and jet blue, none.

DING asks for a Buffalo Zip Code??? What the heck would I put there? I am not a costum to the American way lol

you can put any zip code in there.. I did 90210 or you can google a Buffalo hotel and use that zip.

Someone here recommended www.kayak.com which doesn't cover the discounters like SW but covers the "majors" really well. We got a great fare on Continental, which I wouldn't even have considered without kayak. We are leaving from NH, but it also offered lots of options out of Halifax (as a Cdn comparison point). I built myself a morning "routine" of SW, Jetblue, Air Canada, Westjet, and kayak.

Good luck!

Is there a number I can call to find out about this policy?

Their number is 1-800-435-9792 but it is true so many of us do this all the time.. you don't have to search too hard to see people talking about SWA credits.

We uses Jetblue for our January trip, not direct flights, but my kids flying so they will enjoy the extra take off and landing! We are leaving in the evening, so we don't need to book a hotel! The best thing was it was $930.00 US for the six of us! $59.00 each way!

We are also flying Jetblue over March Break - total for the 4 of us was $760.00 canadian.

I would have preferrred Southwest but they did not have the same rates as Jetblue at the time we booked.
