Alright - this is weird.

I asked on the Transportation board - but theyre so slooooow!! And Im a NOW-NOW-NOW personality. :confused3

Alright - so this morning I booked again for September (come on free dining, come on!!!) So, I was looking at flights - and the earliest flight United has is at 8am in September... for grins and giggles - I looked at August and June....again, earliest flight is 8am.

Now I just got back January 28th, and on the 25th - I left at 6am. So, I look at April.... 6am flight. Alright. What is going on?

Do they / Will they add more flights later? Will that 8am flight turn into a 6am? (which by the way is the exact same flight number I took in January, on a Thursday, as well)

Does 8 am, for UNited on a Thursday - does 8am sound "right"? Shouldnt it, will it be earlier?

ANy help is appreciated. Im so excited!:woohoo:

Truthfully, and I can tell you, it's not the answer you're looking for, but no one knows.

At this point (February) booking for September, you are guaranteed that you will have "A" seat, on "an" airplane, getting you from point A to point B at a specific price. There could be multiple changes, or it could stay pat.

Almost all of the legacy carriers have multiple time and flight number changes between when the flight is released, right up to about 3-4 weeks before departure.

The only airline I've ever seen who's schedules are written in stone is SWA, but the trade off is, you can usually only book 3-4 months prior.

Oh, I know - it just seems odd. I want the earliest flight (for obvious reasons) and right now, 8am is the earliest.

I hate the *game* that must be played with airlines. Book now, wait, book, wait....confusing.

The price looked snazzy right now too - so Im half tempted to book 8am, but thats 2 hours of Disney time, *POOF* gone.... I dont know if I could live with that.

Airlines change their flight schedule all of the time. They may change your flight time a couple of times before you fly. If the flight change becomes too far off from what you originally booked, they will often change you to a flight of your liking. Our flights to Hawaii and back changed 3 times in the 330 days from the time I booked. That was to our advantage because we were originally flying from Hartford, to Atlanta, to Cincinnati and then to HNL. The change they created was undoable so I asked that we depart directly from Cincinnati and they could accommodate us.

For someone with a "Mushy Brain", you sure do ask alot of questions????:)

I know - thats whats making me so mushy!!!

You know it is on DAY one of being freshly booked! Im floating!

Unless you fly out of a hub, it's rare that you will have a flight earlier than 8am. So, for you, the United plane that you will leave on at 8am will likely be leaving a United hub at around 6am.

I am a HUB!
United Airlines, the primary subsidiary of the UAL Corporation, is a major airline of the United States headquartered in Chicago, Illinois. Its operations center is in Elk Grove, near O'Hare International Airport, the airline's largest traffic hub, with 650 daily departures

Maybe they'll add more flights later...fingers crossed!
:woohoo:

Did you check AA out of ORD? Someone on the Transpo board got a good price , don't remember which month it's for.

herc.
