Airlines and Strollres

We have always taken an umbrella stroller and been able to check the stroller at the entrance onto the plane. My question is "Is there any problem doing the same with a larger stroller?". Our stroller stills folds pretty flat but definetley takes up more room. I think a larger stroller would help with naps an storage while in the parks and Downtown Disney. Thanks for your help.
We will be traveling the end of August
