A while ago someone posted an site you could go to and see how booked the plane was you will be flying on. You put in your flight info and could see exactly whick seats were already taken. I can't seem to find that post now.
After you select the flights, you can hit "select seats" to see the charts. However, there maybe more seats open than are shown, the airline blocks some seats from advance selection. But it gives you some idea.
