Hi.

Are there any TAs or people that are very experienced airline experts at booking that can answer a question for me?
We are two couples going to Nashville in November, who are booked on a United Flight.
Today, the last couple said they want to come.

I gave them the flight information and the flight is booked with the exception of First Class. However, when we go online, we can
see six extra leg room, one premium seat and three standard seats.

I actually called United to pretend to book, but the agent told me that what I was looking at should be refreshed since not available.
I have been looking all day and see these seats still showing, even though the agent and the app and online shows only first class.

Why is this happening with my seeing the extra seats?
It is November 10 EWR to BNA, 10:30 am flight, United Flight No. 2111 in case anyone wants to look and perhaps let me know why this shows like this.

THANK YOU!

I'm seeing the same thing you are. Here's the seat map as it comes up for me...

It looks like United has a Basic Economy class. So they'll assign seats to people. It's very possible they have 10 people booked with Basic Economy, so that "fills" the unassigned seats.

Seat maps aren't always accurate.

I'm seeing that flight is J9 Y0. In travel terms that means United will sell 9 seats in First Class (notated as J) but 0 seats for sale in coach (notated as Y).

You might see empty seats in coach....but some people don't always select their seats in advance. The flight does indeed look sold out in coach based on the inventory available.

Thank you both so much! That makes lots of sense about some not choosing their seats. Since this flight ended up being sold out, our friends decided to go a day early and go visit Graceland. Its about 3.5 hours each way from Nashville so this is t on our list of things to do this trip but they really wanted to go and this made their decision easier.

Thanks so much for the explanation. I appreciate your both taking the time to respond. I appreciate it.
