Airline prices

I am starting to look for ticket prices to Oahu for next year. Is $678 tax included a good price for MCO to HNL? Or should I wait to see if they go down. I haven't flown in a long time so any help from some frequent fliers is appreciated. Thanks.

I think it is a very good price.........the first time I flew to Honolulu from Tampa about 10 years ago it was over $500.00 so I don't really think that it is to far out of line. You maybe able to find something a little cheaper but I don't think it will be much. From Tampa it was an 11 hour flight

When are you going? If we're talking about summer, Christmas, Thanksgiving or spring break, that's a REALLY good fare. If we're talking middle of October, February, etc, then it's an ok fare. Not fantastic, but not outrageous.

Sorry - I forgot to add the dates - June5th -15th (maybe the 19th). I didn't know if early summer was considered in season. Thanks for the replies.

Hawaii's economy and particularly tourism has really picked up. It was busy last summer when we were there, will be busier this summer and who knows what next summer will bring. Japanese often travel to Hawaii but Americans who are looking for a tropical vacation but want to remain in the USA are heading off to Hawaii. I think its a good airfare although I have only used FF miles for Hawaii, I have scanned the prices over the last couple of years. Summer is a busy time there because it is far and so families usually wait until school is out. As soon as you book your air, book your rental car. We always book early and I have never gotton a rate cheaper than one I have booked early despite always looking periodically. You would hate to blow the savings you have on air on a car because you waited too long. Have fun.
