Just book the Grand Floridian for March 17-21 for a grand gathering of 12. Should I book airline tickets now with the prices being so high or wait it out a couple of months? Any ideas or suggestions.

Don't know where you are traveling from, but I would book now. We booked for spring break 2008 in August. I keep checking to see if better rates, but so far things are about double what we paid so happy we booked early. When we traveled this past March, I kept checking up to the last minute but never found a better deal because, of course, being spring break, it was such a busy travel time. Good luck!

Wait until after the holiday season. Ticket prices are jacked up right now due to the holidays and the blood sucking scumbag oil companies (sorry, had to let it go). :headache: Price increase is currently being fueled by demand by other countries so lets hope the beginning of the new year sees a slight decline in prices for all of us. It sucks having a car that only runs on super unleaded.:headache: :headache:

we waited too late (or so I thought) and saw prices almost double. Had resigned ourselves to driving 11 hours when we got a "Ding!" from southwest on Monday. Got 3 round trip for $130 each from Nashville.

But I think we just got lucky! I had given up on Southwest a month ago for that kind of fare!

We just got Atlanta to MCO for $98 round trip per person for our late Feb trip. We are going back 3 weeks later (mid-March) and those dates are $640 round trip per person on Delta! Prices are crazy right now!

Honestly, with your dates I would buy the tickets NOW. Southwest released their fares today. Since you are flying on Easter weekend you should expect high fares. In my experience the fares for holidays do not go down. I buy my holiday flights the day SW releases them and they never go down. My Christmas flights have been 2x what I paid for months and most flights are completely sold out. I am hoping for a Ding for Easter but I really don't expect one.

Planes will be full, and I doubt fares will go down. If airfare goes down, you can rebook and get a credit for the difference. I prefer SWA, b/c credits are easy to use, and if airfare on another carrier goes way down (doubtful), I can cancel SWA and use the credit for up to 1 year.

I picked up cheap airfare($135rt, non-stop)on Frontier Airlines for the first week of March.

No need to apologize, knowing this is a family friendly forum you showed great restraint in using the verbiage you really wanted to use, I know I can't express my contempt for OPEC enough. Oh look, the holidays are coming and gas prices are going up, what a coincidence:headache: . People ask why they put oil prices up? Because they can. Sorry I got off topic, but we actually decided to fly this Dec. and got really good airfare on USAir, we normally drive the 7 hours but it might be our last trip for a year or so, we figured we'd splurge.
