I am going to Las Vegas in early Sept for a long weekend and then to HHN in October. I had a return flight from Vegas to Harrisburg on a red eye on a Tuesday night. Continental contacted me the other week and told me they had to change my flights and I would have a layover in Chicago instead of Washington. No problem at all.

I decided for some dumb reason to look at my itinerary online tonight. Ends up they cancelled my flight from Vegas to Chicago but left the last leg on the trip. Called them and they didn't have any flights that fit my schedule so they gave me a refund.

My point is that everyone flying these days should recheck their flights at least once a week to make sure you don't have any surprises....

i totally agree with you phil

i booked out of o'hare back in february for my october trip.

my return flight was cancelled in june.
i was on line and thought i would check my seat assignment i had made when i first booked, was going to change it to an aisle seat.

i put my locater code in and up comes a note, please contact united for futher information, we can not list your flight.

i called.
they told me it was cancelled and they rebooked me for a different flight.
that new flight wasn't what i wanted, it left before noon and wasn't a non stop flight.
was able to switch to a nonstop but afternoon only.

had i not checked on my flight, i would be out of a seat at this point.
the plane filled up 2 days after i switched.

had they contacted you phil or did you have a note on your locater?

That's a pain...good thing I don't have to fly to get here. :teeth:

Mac,

originally they called me to change it. Then when it cancelled I wasn't notified at all.... not even an eMail. You just need to be on your toes....
