Airline Changing Flight Details

We are due to fly from Dublin to Los Angeles travelling via Toronto with Air Canada in July. I have just received an e-mail informing me that the 1st leg of our journey is now a day earlier than originally booked but the 2nd leg remains unchanged. This means an overnight stay in Toronto which was never part of our plans. Since I can't contact anybody until Monday I am trying to find out my entitlements before then. Anybody any ideas ?

I can't really help you myself, but if you go over to flyertalk.com and the Aeroplan (Air Canada) forum, they will be able to give you some advice I am sure. They know as much about flying as we all do about Disney

Domestically at least they would have to give you the option to cancel your tickets without penalty. Any chance there's a cheaper flight on another airline at this point? I suspect not, but you might want to check just to see.

I would call the airline and see if there are any alternate flights. We booked our next vacation through expedia and I was notified that our flight was changed exactly 24 hrs earlier and we were going to be stranded in Guadalajara over night. No thank you! I called and turns out they had a flight that left 20 minutes later than our original so they changed it for us. I don't know why they didn't do that to begin with but whatever...

Refund is not an option as we would never get flights now at the same price. To be honest I could work around the changes if they would pay for our accomodation and meals for the night. Anybody know if this might be a possibility?
