I think you just have to keep checking almost every day because eventually everything goes down even if for only a short time. I have been trying to book a flight to Phoenix from Chicago and it was always $300.00 or more until I finally found one on ATA for $176.70. You'd better believe I jumped all over that one. I'll be going at the end of the month. I also checked on ATA for Chicago to Orlando over Memorial Day weekend and as of yesterday it was $175.00. I'm sure in a week or so those prices will jump up. But like I said, just keep checking every day.
It is over an hour drive, and if we want to leave in the AM we have to get through rush hour. I can't imagine what time we would have to leave.
We already have our May tickets out of IAD, $256 each.
I am working on a June trip to Panama City Beach Fl first then to WDW. I checked BWI and it is more expensive than IAD and I have more stops! That was a three legged trip. I was going to try 2 round trips and see what happens. Flying in to the small airport is what is killing me.

Sidestep.com does check the discount airlines (jetBlue, Song, Spirit, etc...). I use them all the time to check flights and put in JFK as my main airport.
I too am searching for a good deal - primarly on jetBlue. We fly them frequently so at least if I book soon and their prices drop we can get a credit that we'll use again. Currently I'm kicking myself for not buying when their prices were low in December. I waited for a better rate and lost what would have been a good deal based on the cost I'm seeing now!
Very frustrating considering out tickets in May 2003 cost us $120 per person including tax and fot this Oct. it's over a $100 more per person
My DH and I are flying with Delta/Song in May. We recently received an e-mail stating that they changed our out bound (EWR to MCO) from 7:45 PM to 2:15 PM! This was a full flight and they just decided that they weren't running this flight anymore!!!
I'm worried! What do you mean by Song/Delta pulled out after only six months of starting service???
We are flying BOS to MCO May 23-28 on Jet Blue for $192.20 R/T. This was the cheapest we could find. I was willing to fly out of Providence but we couldn't get the cheap fares for our dates. Annmarie
Sorry Gail I hit enter before I wrote that we are going the first 2 weeks of June. Check Song too. They ended up being a couple of dollars cheaper with taxes and fees. When are taking SW to FL and Song home because we could not get the cheap flight on Song both ways. Every other day except the day we wanted to leave was $57.
