DH said I could start planning our Oct DLR trip is I can find cheap airfare from Minneapolis, MN does anybody have any suggestions.

Check everything from airline sites to expedia, etc. And CLEAR OUT your cookies every once in a while. Strangely, that does matter.

Have a price in mind, and try to go for it. You have plenty of time to get tickets, and October is not prime vacation season, so that's good.

Try www.bing.com/travel/ The site isn't set up specifically to sell you ticket like expedia or orbitz so it seems more fare. It also has a price predictor so that can help you get a better fare as well. It will also link your search to expedia and hotwire ect... Just like Kayak does.

Also try LAX, LGB, SNA, and even ONT. Not many people use ONT Ontario to fly to DLR, but it's about as far from DLR as LAX so worth looking into. Keep in mind though that when you get to Los Angeles part of your travel expense will be getting from airport to Hotel and SNA is really close and LGB is about 2/3 the distance of DLR to LAX or ONT.

I would do like the PP says and have a price in mind. Set one and when you get something cheaper buy.

We love the Ontario airport but keep in mind that you are going to have horrible traffic if you are travelling from ONT to DL during the morning comment or from DL to ONT in the evening. It took us almost two hours to travel from DL to Riverside one evening. Don't let that scare you from using ONT though, just plan your arrival and departure times accordingly.

You decide which days you want to go, which airport you're willing to fly into, what your price point is and then you check the rates often, daily during the week. And you watch and wait... and when you see airfare you like, you book it!

Rates for October (I've been watching for a flight to Orlando) have been holding steady. Most of the deals you see now are for summer travel. So, I just watch and wait...
