I am in the early stages of planning a trip for next July. Last year we went down in July and we drove. It was 22 hours but when i look back at it it really was fun.
With all the talk about flying out of Buffalo on here I have looked into it a little bit and found flights on Jetblue for this July for about $550 for the 4 of us round trip. That is a great deal since it cost us roughly that much to drive last summer (the summer of $4/gallon gas). By flying I would also save the 2 days driving time each way.
Obviously that price might not be the same next July. Is the price for this summer so low due to the economy or is it always like that during July?? I am kind of getting my hopes up for flying and don't want to find out next year when the prices come out it costs way more next year. i will only fly if it is going to be about the same cost as driving. I was hoping you veteran fliers would have an idea about price trends.

thanks

if i decide on flying expect lots more questions in the next year as it will be my first time to fly and also my first time in an airport.

I have priced various trips through Buffalo on Jet Blue and the prices I get are no more than $950US or so. As I understand it, Jet Blue prices increase as they sell more seats. The first person to buy seats when the flight is available for sale get them at the lowest price. SO you may have been one of those lucky few to get in at the very beginning.

If you price Buffalo to orlando today leaving July 18 and returning July 26 on jetblue you will get $556.80US. when you get to the seat selection screen the plane is over half full. So if it is true they raise the price the more tickets they sell the first people must of got a real good deal.

I just checked again and the price went up since 2 hours ago.:confused3 Now it is $716US I guess i will have to watch and try to book as soon as drices come out.

I am looking at a trip in December to Florida (not wdw though) and am thinking of driving. It's about 20 hours from where I live as well. I was looking at airfare and for two people to fly dec 28-jan4 it will be almost $700. Absolutely ridiculous. So I know driving would definately be cheaper.
Do you guys rent a car to drive there (20 hour trips) or just use yours?

I just booked a week ago on united going from toronto to orlando for me and 2 kids next week. Was $310 canadian allin per person. And return was direct flight too!!!
