Do you think they will be dropping anytime? Is there a certain time of the year you can get a good deal. We are going on a cruise the last week of Aug, flying into Ft Lauderdale from Norfolk.

We usually fly every couple of years, and Ive always seem to hit a good deal. This time however, I started checking last month and they were about $180 and I kept thinking I will wait, of course they have gone up.:sad2:

So now I keep checking, and wonder if they will still go up, or there will be some sort of sale.???WHat is your experience with buying airline tickets?

It depends on what airline you are flying with.
Maybe be flexible with your dates and come in a day earlier?
Check out the transportation board, lots of good hints and advice.

I hear ya!
Not sure if it's true, but I'm hearing people say that flights are booking because of the horrible winter much of the country has had, leaving fewer seats to fill, and fewer bargains.

You are shopping too early for flights. Flights generally are the least expensive about a month before the flight. To buy them now you pay 'full price" wait until summer and get them on sale.

We usually fly SW out of ORF because they tend to be a lot cheaper than other airlines, so my recommendation would be to take a look at their site. You also may want to check the prices out Newport News (Airtran sometimes has deals).

However, $180 isn't that bad a price. I think the last time we flew to FLL (on SW) we paid $150 round trip and that was back in the days that SW was still running decent dings (man do I miss those days!).
