Airfare price point

I haven't flown since 2007 and needless to say prices aren't what they used to be. So I don't know what is considered a good deal anymore. I live in MD so would probably fly out of BWI to MCO but could go to Philly, Dulles or even Atlantic City. I'm thinking Southwest would be the best since there is no baggage fees and it seems to be the cheapest anyways. So Eastcoasters what is your price point what airfare deal would you see and have to jump on? Wed like to go in September and I'm seeing it for $89 each way pp is that the best I could hope for and will it go up drastically from here? I hate playing the airfare game!

We are in Raleigh. Anything less than $100 per segment is our point. Driving would have cost us more than flying using that price point. We got tickets from Southwest for $92 each way for our trip later this month. They are now up to $136 each way so I am glad I grabbed them when I did.

We are absolutely not a driving family. I was looking into the autotrain but it was alot more than flying and took too long.

We are in Maryland too. The lowest I have seens is $79 from SW but traveling mid week. What I have found is the issue is the cost of the plane fares from from Florida back to Maryland. These prices seem to start at $158 and go up from there. I miss the $49 and $59 days.

We are flying out of PHL to MCO on Wed. and our tickets are $150 on airtran after taxes and fees, but we will need to pay for bags. But, they are non-stop and at great times. I would have gone up to $200, that was our limit for this trip.

You didn't say if it was just you or more? For us, that's a big factor - tickets times four or five make it a much bigger expense than driving, so the additional cost of flying has to be not so much as to overcome the convenience. I figure it costs about at least $500 for gas and 2 nights hotels and extra eating out, and I'm okay with going $500 above that to fly - less vacation days, aggravation, and wear on the car - but that's about it.

I bet you can find something around $200, if you have some flexibility. I'd always had good luck with BWI, but not sure now that Airtran and SW are merging. Hope you find a good deal!

I would jump on $89 pp each way!!! But I am in Chicago, so don't know the market by you.
