This is my problem. TRying to get great airfare over thanks giving. My dates are not primetime. 11/18 or 19 thru 12/1. I was thinking of SWA but they have not released fares yet. Should I book with them right when they come out or hang in for fare sales. any idea for fall fare sales starting???

Thanks!
Sue

I think you're really early in trying to hit a good deal. Keep watching to major airlines flying from your gateway. There are serveral fare watchers online that you can add to your computer. I have found personally, at least flying out of ORD that SWA does not run the least expensive flights.
Be a little patient, you can always priceline in late summer.

We're traveling from the NorthWest (Oregon) to Mickey's (Orlando) in October 2004, and I have everything worked out, and paid for ie. rental car, DCL tickets, Hopper passes & Hotel, however, we haven't booked airfare yet. I can't get a deal for tryin'!!! . :( We've decided to wait out the summer, and see what befalls us.:rolleyes: I highly reccommend subscribing to the various sites, like hotwire, travelocity, etc. and watching their offers.:chat:

Hello, fellow Oregonian. Nice to see another Northwesterner on the boards.

We did the October trip this past October (3 night cruise with 5 nights @ WDW). I believe we purchased tickets for our trip later part of Spring to early summer. The rates should be pretty good for that time of year. When the prices drop around $228 or less book quickly. Do check flying into MCO or even Tampa. For some reason flying into Tampa seems to be less expensive. When Southwest releases their dates then the prices start to fall.

Will you be flying out of PDX? We usually use Delta and my parents usually use Southwest. Alaska airlines would be terrific because the fly to SEA and then direct to MCO. I was checking their flights last night and it seems to me they were having some pretty good deals (red eye and early morning flights).

We live in Beaverton (Portland suburb). Are we neighbors?:wave:

We're in Eugene! We come to PRTLD about twice a month though, for the Market and to check out the city. Eugene is about as "country" as I'll ever get. I am a city girl, so I have to escape and hit PRTLD every once in a while! I don't mind flying out of PDX, but now, I have to consider stowing the car. We are spending a week at the MK and a week on the DCL and the cheapest park & fly rate I can get seems to be $99. Fares outta' PDX are generally much cheaper than EUG, but in this case, with the consideration of gas, a two hour drive (each way) and the storage fees, I think we'll leave from EUG. I am seeing rates of $323.00 RT and even though I suggessted waiting on the previous post, I think we'll book this fare. The flight times and days are awesome, just what I want, and a $15.00 taxi trip each way to the airport is acceptable. That flight to MCO is gonna' kill me, though. I am a single parent traveling with a seven (soon to be eight) year old. Wish me luck!:crazy: BTW did you know in 2005 Mickey's bringing his boat(s) to California so they'll do trips from the West Coast?!?!? YEAH!!! Can't wait! Don't wanna' fly across the country anyore!! Now won't have to!

I have a 7 year old DD and would have NO problem taking her on vacation just the two of us.

Are you sure about DCL sailing out of California in 2005? We were thinking about an Alaskan cruise for summer of 2005, but if Disney is coming I would sail with them no matter where they were going.

I was born in Springfield, OR. Parents still have friends in the area. Your airfares are high, but not too shoking considering it is not a high traffic airport.

We LOVE Portland. DH works for Intel. I work near Lloyd center mall. Very convienent for picking up Disney Dollars.::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

Have fun planning your travels!::yes::

I am positive they're coming to California! Me and my cyber friends on the DCL boards are planning next summer trips! YEAH!!! Had I known earlier about the move to the West Coast I might have waited, but we wanted to see WDW again, anyway...so no big. Yes, Mickey is coming to Cali!!! Yeah for us!:crazy:
