I'm trying to book our Disney trip for September but the Southwest prices are just to high, we usually fly Southwest. I'm looking for some input and others experinces with flying Airtran we have no experience with this Airline. We are flying out late Aug from Buffalo. TIA:)

We have flew on Airtran many times. We like them, have never had any problems. I would wait till tomorrow to book your flights. I just saw tonight that Airtran lowered their prices and I bet tomorrow SW does the same thing. This happened last week. The next day after Airtran lowered their flight most of the other airlines matched the Airtran price.

Airtran and SW are the only airlines left out of BWI that fly non-stop to Orlando.

I always fly Airtran; and pick my seat ahead of time.

No hassle with checking in at the 24 hour mark; no issue of worrying about getting a particular zone, etc.

Airtran is great.

The only choice we have for nonstop flights from DFW to MCO is Air Tran and American. For the last several years we've pretty much always flew Air Tran. They are usually quite a bit cheaper than American and we've never had a problem with them.

We have flown AirTran 5 times, so far so good. Just keep an eye on your flight times because they do change once and a while. Be sure to bring headphones too for the free satellite radio! We were delayed in Orlando due to weather in our area and AirTran gave us vouchers for food in the airport and coupons for $25 off future travel. :goodvibes

:thumbsup2 Just so you know, we really like Airtran. We've had great service, usually with a smile and have always gotten really good deals. FYI, we fly out of Mem to Mco and usually pay about 178 rt pp. I just looked up airfare from VA to Orlando and it was $114 each way. Right now, that's a great deal. Check right now or in a couple of hours. Tuesday afternoons are great for booking a deal!! Good Luck!

Only nonstop options from Pitt to MCO is SW or Airtran. We love Airtran. :thumbsup2

We flew Airtran from Detroit last fall. Wouldn't hesitate to use them again. Our flights were both on time. It was our first time flying so I really have nothing to compare it to. But, as a previous poster stated, remember your headphones for the free satellite radio, its great!

Flew AirTran on my last trip. Only hiccup was when my friend and I went to check our luggage in for the return flight the RAC desk told us that Air Tran's computers had gone down and they weren't accepting any more remotely checked luggage. Wasn't a huge deal, called ME, had them switch us to a slightly earlier bus and had bell services hold our suitcases while we went to DTD.
I had called BAGS to pay for our luggage checking and when we got to the airport that was applied so we didn't have to pay again.
Got to the gate with plenty of time but after a while they called my party up to the desk. Of course I was freaking out a bit thinking there was a problem but they had just changed our seat assignments. Wasn't too happy because we had a TIGHT connection in Atlanta and I had booked us as close to the front of the plane as possible. Then I noticed what our new seats were... 1A and 1B!!! Definitely couldn't complain about a first class upgrade for our first leg!
Overall I was very happy with them & am flying with them back from my next trip! :)

I took another poster's advice and checked with WDW travel for airfare. I was able to save $133 from the price I could get directly through AirTran and what WDW got me. We have to drive to Chicago, but for under $200 each for round trip, it is worth it. Have you checked with Disney?

We used to fly Airtran fairly often, but too many schedule changes pushed us to only use Southwest for a few years. For our trip coming up this summer, I did find a nice price on a return flight on Airtran. I figured we never had issues with the flights, just the schedule, so I bought it. Well, it has changed twice in the last month. It is still a non-stop, but now we are leaving a few hours earlier than when I purchased. So, just watch their schedule if you book with them.

I've flown to Orland with DH three times this past year and actually prefer them to Southwest. I love being able to pick our seats in advance. We are all flying AirTran home for our spring break trip since the prices were way cheaper than Southwest.

I've never had a problem with them changing times but maybe that's because we are usually on one of the first flights of the day. :confused3 I think I better go check the time of our return flight to make sure it hasn't changed.

Overall, we are very satisfied with AirTran.

See I was right once Airtran ran a sale Southwest would lower their prices. I looked yesterday and my flight on Southwest went down $100 a piece. Glad I waited to book my flights. I also got an email that American Airlines was matching Southwest prices.
