Airtran changed my flight time by 10 minutes and now our layover in Atlanta will only be 50 minutes instead of an hour. Are we going to have enough time to get from one plane to another when we pull in?

It shouldn't be a problem. All of AT's flights are in the same concourse so at the most you'll have a 10-15 minute walk to the next gate.

Also not a problem

We flew into concourse D and out from concourse C on AirTran yesterday, but it really wasn't that bad to change concourses. You shouldn't have a problem.

when I was looking at the concourse map, it showed Airtran as all being in the same concourse? Has that changed now?

I travel air tran monthly and they do both concourses 90% of the time but it is easy trip I have taken tram and also done the people mover

Is there any way I can find out what gate my plane will arrive at and take off from? We are coming in on flight 923 from MCI and moving over to flight 853 ATL on May 25th.

Gate assignments can, and do, change frequently. You could look at those same flights today and tomorrow (try www.flightaware.com) but that doesn't really help for your dates. Its not unusual for a gate assignment to change even while your flight is enroute.

It's very easy to switch concourses in Atlanta. You can either take the moving sidewalk or the train. Most of AirTran's gates are on C but I think they have some on D also.

Not to scare you, but we did missed a connection through ATL recently (going from MCO to Atlantic City). I think all odds were against us though! We only had a 50 min. layover, our flight from MCO was slightly delayed (only about 15 min.) & we had to get to a different concourse. Also, factor that you really don't have a full 50 minutes to make it because they board about 30 min. prior and seem to close the doors and start to taxi before the actual departure time.

Good Luck!

Connections can be missed. If it happens, you work with Airtran to get to your destination asap.

That said, I don't think there will be any issues. As soon as you get off the plane, immediately check the departures board to know what gate your connection is taking off from. Then head to that gate. Don't stop for a bathroom break or food. Only do that once you are at the new gate.

I always track my flights as the dates approach. I get a general idea of what gates they are using so I have a mental picture in my head. ATL is large, but the people mover is very efficient. It looks close to walk, but the train is always faster.

Unless your first flight is very late, you will be fine. I had a 37 minute connection in DFW last year. My plane was 20 min late and I had to RUN to my next flight, but I made it.
