Air Tran is trying to trick me

They sent me an email telling me that my flight tomorrow has changed. Meanwhile, everything matches what I booked originally.

This is the first time I'm flying with them. Are they playing games with the "newbie?"

This sort of happened to me. I got the email that my times had changed, but I couldn't find a difference. Then when I looked closely I noticed that my take off time had changed from 10:08 to 10:09!! I would just call them and clarify so you can make sure you're there at the right time.

Just call them and ask what changes were made. Do not forget to check flight status on web site before you leave for the airport, and always double check at the airport as well. This is for all airlines not just Airtran.

I just got an email from them today re: my January flight.

Departure time is same. Arrival in MCO is 4 minutes later than originally stated???

Strange... yes. But at least it looks like they are trying to implement a system where everybody gets notified.

We'll see.

More than likely an automated email goes out whenever there is any kind of a change at all (regardless of how minor).

I flew AirTran about a month ago and really enjoyed the flight. I really liked the free XM radio. They'll give you the earphones free, but you can carry your own if you have them.

I checked in online, printed out my boarding pass and I'm all set. I still have no clue what this difference is, but everything's looking good.

I just got that email too...pushed back my departure on Monday an hour. That's okay with me although now it gets in kind of late. I won't have to run out of my lunch at Prime Time.

Air Tran likes to change their schedule. Check to see if the times are the same but they changed the flight number or something.

Beware of airlines (any airline) trying to trick you into accepting a different flight when your original flight still exists at about the same time. Airlines like to do this with overbooked flights, calling people at 2 in the morning.

They may say something like "you may be bumped". That is a sentence that is always true 24/7 for all air passengers so it is not a threat. By saying "no, I will keep what I have", you cannot be bumped unless the airline compensates you (and you show up at the airport on time). But if you agree to a change the airline does not have to compensate you.

We also just got an email regarding our January flights. Drove me nuts for a few minutes because I couldn't find any differences in times at all. Then I noticed that the flight number for one leg of the return trip was different. The times remained exactly the same.

Check all flight numbers - maybe that's what changed for you too.

Nope, checked the flight numbers, flight times, etc., still can't find what this change is. All I know is, in an hour and a half, I head to the airport and will be in Mickey land this afternoon.
