Air Miles

I originially posted this in the UK Community Forum which might not best place so I ahve posted here as well. I know very little, perhaps even less (!), about airmiles. We usually book via a travel agent and am a Virgin Frequent Flyer....can arimiles be redeemed even if booking via a travel agent? Also can airmiles be used against Virgin...how does this airmiles thing work?

Which type of airmiles are you talking about?

There are generic airmiles (http://www.airmiles.co.uk/) which can be used on a variety of airlines.

There are airmiles specific to airlines - i.e. Virgin airmiles (http://www.virgin-atlantic.com/en/gb/frequentflyer/index.jsp).

Those two website should help explain what you are looking for. I don't use either scheme (I collect Britishj Airways Airmiles)
