Couple of questions:

if you or your children have one, do you / they still play?

What is a reasonable price to pay for one that is of "medium" quality? I know we don't want a really inexpensive one, if we get one at all.

Do they last? Need repairs?

This will be for my 2 daughter's birthday in June when they turn 6. Whenever they see air hockey they get GIDDY! :rotfl:

Thanks.

We bought..ummm Santa brought...this one for DS 6&8

It is convertable - air hockey, pool, ping pong. we paid $250, but I think it is about $199 in the lower 48. The kids LOVE air hockey and ice hockey and street hockey and knee hockey...basically any form, but we bought the multi purpose table so they can have options & maybe not get bored with it. Are they still using it - well it's only been a week, but yes!

My parents paid about $50 for mine from Wal Mart about 3 years ago. I don't play it that often, but my students get a huge kick out of it at our end of the year picnic at my house.

We also got one for our girls this year. They are ages 4 and 9. We purchased ours at dicks sporting goods store paid 200.00 on sale regular 400.00. Our is a 3 in 1 swivel air hockey, pool and ping pong. We looked at some of the air hockey tables and went with this one because of the swivel option and also because some of the air hockey tables we were considering were pressed wood for the bottom support and this one seems sturdier because of the 4 leg option and not just two long supports for legs. My girls love it. I'm sure their interest will come and go. Ours is 6 feet.

We got one a TRU a couple years ago. Paid @$100 - on sale at Christmas. They don'tplay all that often but don't want to get rid of it either. Has never needed repairs. I think the problem is 1. they are spoiled and have to much stuff and 2. they both rarely want to play it at the same time.

We have this one. Dh just had to have it. It was on sale for about $700 or so. It works great but the only time anyone uses it anymore is if they have friends over. Personally I would love to get rid of the thing, but....

we got one about four years ago. and my two girls 6 and 10 used it for about one year nonstop with their friends. now it pretty much collects dust. gets used a couple of times per year.
