When is it the best time to buy an Air Hockey table? Should we wait til Thanksgiving weekend to buy one or get the one for $199 at Sears this week? We were looking for a decent one with rounded corners around $200, so that one is in our price. The more savings the better, but we want one that will keep working. We don't want one that is like 5 tables in one kinda thing. I don't like those, they are kinda cheezy. We want a straight great working air hockey table for the family to enjoy. Eventually, we'll get a foosball table too and we already have our great dart board up and gets used every weekend, so we don't feel that this a waste of money for us.

My kids love this game!

I don't know when the best time to purchase an air hockey table is, but we got ours at Costco a few years ago. It is very well built and will last a lifetime! As you can imagine, when we first got it, the whole family played alot. As time goes on, it gets played less and less and is now more of a storage table. It's nice to have but definitely takes up a bunch of room in our play room. My kids are DD13 and DS11. I imagine as they approach the teen years and more kids come to the house, the air hockey table will get more use again. IMHO, purchase a good quality, sturdy air hockey table that should last you many, many years. The cheaper ones just aren't worth it. :thumbsup2

What good timing...I am thinking of that myself! Black Friday ads are up and running at bfads.net. There is one on there today about Sears friends and family sale, extra 10% off. I have that site ready to go at 6p.m. That is when the sale starts. It states they will have black friday prices...we will see at 6!
(They have a spot on there for game tables)

My tip is to be sure to play on the table before buying it. We bought one last year, and it turns out that it's a little difficult to get the puck in the goal. The slot just isn't very big. We did test it, and this one seemed to play better than the first one we almost bought, but we should have tested it longer!

Thanks for the quick replies.

lisajl-Thanks for the black Friday information. We're waiting for this and hope to get to the store to check it out.

Earstou-very good information. I never thought about slot size on those machines. I'll have to look in the store and try them out. Thanks for the heads up!

Bes ttime to buy is the weekend of black friday We picked ours up at k-mart last year at the same time as we picked up a pool table. our local K-mart had some in store specails goinf on and last year saers/kmart had a great deal on a nice inexpensive pool table. they were nice in price for both we spent less tha 450 including delivery which was 50 dollars to deliver both to our home ant put in our basement I still had to build it though. but not bad for 3 unit to make our game room.

Would you be open to 2nd hand? As a previous poster pointed out, many people love them for a while and then don't use them.

We just bought a $300 new one for $25 at a yard sale. It was in awesome condition and even if my kids don't play with it all that much, I don't feel that I have lost much.

My kids are thrilled and don't care if it is new or not. They just wanted one.

The BEST time to get one of these is about 2 weeks after Christmas... they go on insane clearance sale, because the stores don't want to have to deal with having to store them. Would it be possible for you to make up a certificate to pick one up after the hectic Christmas holidays are over? You can seriously pick them up for like 75% off. Otherwise, Black Friday is probably your best bet.
