I have heard that the air-con is really fierce in some of the TS dining places at WDW. Would anyone recommend that we take some extra clothing to the parks or resorts just for that? Are any places worse than other?

Going in Aug and want to travel as light as poss.

My wife always carries a sweater no matter where we go in Central Florida (dinner, movies, church, etc).

I remember going to the Rainforest Cafe in Aug. and it was freezing! I hate that!

Are you usually cold? I always take along a sweatshirt. You could also have a warm drink like coffee to keep you warm.

Thank you SO much for this thread!! I'm going on my honeymoon and August and all I'm thinking is HUMIDITY and tank tops...but I am forever FREEZING especially in high air-conditioning places...it keeps me from being able to enjoy my meal b/c my teeth chatter so hard that people can hear me across the room!!! :rotfl:

SO glad to know that i need to keep a little sweater-ish thing in my bag so that i can eat without making gun shot noises the whole time!!! :rotfl2:

I like the cold but always carry a sweater in a backpack for little DD. We do a tableservice every day and most of the time it is cold.

You won't need a sweatshirt--In all my hundreds of restaurant meals in Florida I've only once been in a place that was that cold--Portobello at DTD.

Normally I carry a very lightweight open weave type sweater, or even just a lightweight wrap to use if I get chilled.

I get cold easily, and have never needed more than that.

I found it so cold in restaurants and even colder on the disney buses that I always had to carry a thin sweater with me and even then I was so cold that I had really painful nipples! :rotfl2:

back in Dec 04, my DH and I were vacationing with his family...we went to Sci-Fi one day for lunch...bother my MIL and SIL were chilled once we were seated and commented how cold it was in there.

I guess our waiter overheard them...a few minutes later he came over with some jackets for them to borrow (looked like part of their uniform jackets).

Just one of the ways our waiter earned a very large tip that day!

Yes I agree with this one. I visited in July and I was shivering. Rainforst Cafe has been the only place where I was uncomfortable with the cold.

I think EVERY restaurant in disney is cold. We ate at Le Cellier on our first night, and I was so cold I wore my 8 years olds sweater!

i highly recommend a light sweater and keep it dry in a large ziploc. in august you will be met with afternoon showers. or in the case of riding a water ride. i've gone into restaurants after being soaked in the rain and FROZE!! :guilty: last time we were there, in LTT we were sat under an AC vent and i was cold and unhappy!

I'm always cold in the restaurants!!! I just ball up a zip up hooded sweatshirt (Disney one, of course!) and keep it in our backpack :thumbsup2

I remember our May 04 trip. 3 adults dinner at CP. got seated along windows facing casey's. WE FROZE the entire meal. I was never so glad to walk back outside and say oh HEAT I got a few strange looks from people waiting to be seated.

I feel we froze because we were sweaty wet when we went in, it was 80+ going into a 60+ place and we were seated right by air cond.

I'm always freezing when we go out to eat! Bring a light sweater..you'll be fine! :goodvibes

I'm usually cold at all restaurants, including WDW. I always pack a jacket in our bag and it's always put to good use! I can't stand being cold.

I love 90 degree weather - hate air conditioning. Last August I bought, on ebay, a mesh backpack that had a cooler attached to the bottom. I carried my frozen water bottles in the cooler (cause we needed to keep drinking) and my (and my girls) sweaters in the mesh part. After a while we just tied the sweaters around our waist. Especially in MK. We'd go to Haunted Mansion, put sweater on; get to Peter Pan, put the sweater on. So many of the Fantasyland rides are cold, you need your sweater. Forget about the restaurants - FREEZING!!!!

We froze at Sci Fi in Nov. It was very cold. We were in a hurry to finish and get back out to warm up. We asked about the temp, they told us it just took a while to get the air conditioning adjusted.???

We were freezing next to the window in Crystal Palace in January.

Even my 60yo mom was cold....she rarely is cold.

You won't need a sweater in August. It's so hot and humid outside, the a/c is a welcome relief.
