Here is what I just received from MCO
Thank you for contacting Orlando International Airport.
Curbside check-in allows passengers to check in on the Departures curb (on Level 3) of the Main Terminal, rather than inside at the Ticket Counter. This is particularly useful if you are being dropped off by private car, or have a rental car and choose to drop off passengers and baggage on the departures curb before returning to the rental car facility. Please note that vehicles may not be left unattended, and may only be stationary at the curb while actively loading/unloading passengers/baggage.
DME (and other commercial vehicles) pick-up/drop-off on Level 1.
As you are using DME your baggage will already have been taken care of, and I assume that you will also have your boarding passes, in which case you will not need to use the curbside check-in or go to the ticket counter. If so, you may proceed to Level 3 (departures) to shop, eat, and clear security. If; however, you do not have your boarding passes you may go to either the curbside check-in or the ticket counter on Level 3 (ie. whichever has the shortest line) to have those issued.
sooooo, it looks like a nice add-on if you are dropped off on level 3, but a pain (unless the lines are shorter) if you take DME
