Since DVC and air mattresses go together like Peanut Butter & Jelly- I thought this would be a good place to ask.

2 main questions:
Aerobeds are a lot more $ than the generic beds- are they worth the extra $$?

I kind of want a double- but will that not fit in a lot of DVC 1 bedrooms when the foldout couch is pulled out?

the double bed should fit - it will definitely fit at OKW - lots more room there.

you might have to move some stuff in the other DVC resorts.

you just need a twin if you do studio - they have to fit in the hall way.

I've slept on one a couple of times and they are pretty comfortable for air mattresses. I like that they come with their own pump so you have everything you need to inflate them quickly -- the pump works great!. They also deflate pretty quickly and can be rolled up and stored in their own carrying bag.

I got two single sized raised Aerobeds 2 years ago at Target on clearance. I'm not sure if it was a price glitch or not but I got them each $39.00. I have NEVER seen them anywhere this cheap. They are great and my teens love them and sleep well on them.

We took them along to a one bedroom at SSR a few years back because my two teens would kill each other with a double sized bed to share.

have fun,

Thanks- I bit the bullet and get the Aerobed. Everyone says they are comfortable. $39- that is a great deal- I paid A LOT more than that and that was a sale price.

what size aerobed did you end up buying? Im curious too. Are you putting it is the master bedroom?

I got a "full" size. It was at Target and it was around $129 I think. It is actually for a different trip we are taking this weekend, but I may bring it along to Disney. We go in 15 days! We ave 8 people in a 2 bedroom- it may come in handy. I would probably put on the floor in the master br.

We gave up on the expensive ones. They seem to spring a leak after one or two uses (at least for us) and we can never repair. :confused3 So, instead, we buy the $30 bolghaerhbvgoo brand (ie; what ever is cheapest). Kids don't know the difference, and it feels better when they spring a leak eventually :rotfl2:

We have both a queen sized aerobed and two twin sized coleman air mattresses. When we go to a studio, we take the twin-sized and it fits nicely at the foot of the opened up sofa-bed (we do move the coffee table out of the way). For the 1BR, we take the queen-sized and it fits fine in OKW - haven't tried it anywhere else yet - but we just have to move a chair and shove over the dining table to make room for it and still have some walking space. We just prop the bed against the wall during the day so we don't have to deflate, re-inflate.

We have taken both aero beds and generic Walmart ones and have had equally good luck with both. The last one was an Ozark brand raised twin size and it worked very well in the master bedroom at OKW between the king bed and the window. It did need a separate pump which I found for $10 or so at one of the discount places around here. The one I use at our summer place is also from Walmart and has legs. It makes it much easier for those like me who have trouble getting the knees and legs to work some days as you don't have to get up off the floor. That one comes in it's own carrying case and also needs a separate pump. We haven't taken that one to WDW yet as the raised one worked well for the child that used it. Don't forget to take the linens you need if you take it to WDW. I keep the cover and the sheets packed with ours so it is ready to go when needed. Like someone else said the ones that have leaked and deflated for us were the aero beds so we take the cheaper ones to WDW and luckily have not had a problem yet.

so, a full size ( 54" ) will fit in the master of a dvc unit? between bed and window?

It probably would at OKW but wouldn't leave any room for walking on that side of the bed. We have only taken the single ones.

Got a twin sized aerobed last night at our Linens and Things for $49.99 down from $99.99 plus I had a 20% off coupon so I ended up paying about $40. Thought it might come in handy since we just joined DVC.:thumbsup2

I forgot to add earlier to my post: we had a one bedroom at SSR when I used these and we moved the chair in the living room. I then placed the beds side by side so they could both watch TV with room inbetween to walk. It worked out really well. Also, being as they are teens, when we wanted them to get up the next morning (around 9 or 10 mind you..not 7am!), and they would not cooperate...I would just deflate their beds :) Sounds cruel but it worked like a charm.
