AI -- Simon and Paula's little video...

Wanted to see what you all thought about the "affair" video? While it was a cute premise, I think Paula played it a bit too well for family TV. And the kiss... My 5yr old came into me (I was watching in the other room while working on the computer) and said, "Paula and Simon are CHEWING on each other!!" Then she went on to explain that Randy woke Simon up from a dream and said, "Dawg! You're supposed to be sleeping!" Cute little recap from a 5yr old, but as a parent watching the show with a 10yr old as well, I was a bit uncomfortable with the adult content.

BTW, I didn't turn off the TV or usher my DDs out of the room. I'm not writing letters to AI to complain or boycotting Fox. I just wondered if anyone else felt like they were pushing the envelope a bit much for a family show? Or maybe it's not meant to be a family show.... ?

So, what do you think?

I did think it was a bit much for a family show. I'm second guessing myself about letting my kids (8 and10) stay up and watch. The commercials for all those FOX shows were not really child-friendly either. I think 10:00 is too late for them, I'll rethink that in the future. They are usually long asleep by 10 and they really only watch Nickelodeon or Disney Channel so those questions hardly come up when watching TV. We love the show but I always switch to the Travel Channel during the commercials.

I thought it was quite funny, BUT... my 8 year old was sitting right next to me & I was pretty uncomfortable with the content.... the five year old was too young to really get it, but the 8 year old is just on the brink

That was some kiss for a "joke" video. I sense the three judges do get along well, but I didn't think that well!

It was just a kiss. Our kids see us kiss. I'd rather my kids saw people kissing than people killing one another.

Actually it wasn't the kiss I minded so much as the tongue LOL.... I think the judges may get along a little *too* well these days

I much preferred the kiss in that video than all the sophmoric gay bashing that Simon and Ryan were exchanging back and forth a few weeks ago. I felt almost compelled to write to Fox and let them know how I felt about it, too. I'm trying to teach my kids about diversity, and I didn't think AI set a very good example there.

Not good for a family show. Besides, I thought Paula and Simon weren't very fond of one another or is that part of the "hype" of the show?
