Ahoy! Sailing the Wonder 2/8/09

Hi, I just booked this cruise today. My second Disney cruise--first was a 4day in May, 2006.

I'll be sailing solo this trip. Look forward to meeting you all!

anybody else sailing with us? Lotsa space still available.........:cool1:

We booked last week, cat 8 HCP room (for DM). Now we are thinking about the Saturday night. Thinking we might stay at Cocoa Beach and watch the Magic sail away. The Sheraton 4 Points has a weekend get-away rate that looks good, includes a full breakfast.

Sorry sorry not to be joining you all, but we had to change our plans and are now sailing on January 25th! Hope you have beautiful weather and a magical cruise. Best to you all. :goodvibes

Welcome Audrey

I have been on cruises with 200+ Diser's and Family, there will always be room for another on a DCL cruise!

Is anyone else thinking of having a Fish Extender and doing a mini give away? I have one that I have used on three of my past cruises, it is lime green and Tinkerbell, so cute.

Pj

Welcome aboard Sneeuwwitje!! Will this be your first DCL cruise? This is our fourth! Two with kids and two without....:cool1:
Sorry pjpoohbear, we have never done the DCL "tag" game.

Oh, I don't do tag either, although that is fairly easy, a big lime green mickey head with magnets and cabin/DIS names on the back and the faster it moves from cabin to cabin the more fun, lol.

Fish Extenders are used to receive little notes and mini gifts at DISer cabins. Some groups do a secret mickey exchange, one to one mini gifts. Others do a small favors from their home state/town. I have done door magnets, that celebrated the specific cruise. On the repo cruise my group, 11 Diser's, did a mouse pad for each family, it helped to keep the cost way down. Others giver small sweet treats, or theme night related items from oriental trading etc. I have never spent more then $2 per family and been able to do some really creative things to share.

To read more about the FE idea here. If you are interterested, but don't read all of it, just skim through.
Pj

I would think we will have more then 15 families, not to many, the repo had 100+, lol.

Plus it is a great way to see parts of the ship you have never seen before, I delivered all my door magnets on the halloween cruise last year and saw places I never knew existed, lol.

Thanx, "nokids"!

Wow, your 4th! So you're an expert! Any expert advice?
This will be our first...and I'm glad I found the disboards so I will be prepared February 8th!

I also read about the fe's and I think it's a nice idea. If there will be a couple of families doing it (not too big a group) I would join in, pj!

My only advice is to get ready to have a blast! Browse the DIS boards and ask lots of questions. The only dumb question is the one you didnt ask......:thumbsup2

PJPoohBear,

We have two kids... they will be 9 and 7 at the time and I think they would love to do the fish extender!!! We are traveling with another couple with two kids as well... She would love to be involved too, though she's yet to be a Dis'er LOL!

If there are others interested.... Count us in!!!

As we get closer, we will bring up the FE topic again. Just want to see what the interest level is, sounds like we will have at least 6 families, not too big, just perfect.

Any of you guys doing the land/sea for this cruise? We are and have the 4th thru the 8th booked at the Poly... I was wondering how the Superbowl on Feb 1st will affect the crowds by the 4th?

Hopefully, it won't be horrible... we've been spoiled by going in Nov and Dec and practically walking on rides.... we picked February and stayed away from President's Day so we would have a non-crowded time...

Anyone else out there with thoughts?

We are doing a self booked land and sea with the land portion the 12th-16th at SSR. We have left over MYW Passes and as DVC members can book the dining package on it's own.

I am hoping to book my airfare early and not pay too much for a flight home on the 16th, that is our Family Day, and I think your President day, correct?

Pj

Ours is booked as a package right now, but if there happens to be any type of discount come out for that time at all, I think it will be less expensive to book it all separately!

Fingers crossed for a code for the both of us!

On Mousesavers, it looks like historically, the discount rates for January - March came out right at the end of October... with rates available to Canadians first, then VISA holders, then the general public around the 1st of November.... I'll be watching!

Hey everyone, my DH and daughter (10 1/2 months now, 17 months at sailing) will be sailing with you all. We can't wait, this is our 2nd Disney cruise, we just went last January. Last cruise we got a lucky surprise and stopped at Castaway Cay twice, wouldn't it be nice if that happened again. Can't wait to see you all and the fish extender thing sounds fun, where do you get them from?
