omg!!!! i was just in a trade with some dude in a guest room. (one of those new dark rooms you can buy that are totally awkward because there is no music.) But aynway, i asked him what he had for trade and he said hello. normal, right? then someone named yavn.rules says hello. IN OUR TRADE! there was a third person in our trade!!!!! i would tell you all what happened next, but i suddenly got booted.....? don't know why...

EDIT: Eh, maybe not. Never knew this was a scam. I just thought this was a harmless bug.

It was not a third person in the trade. People found a way when in the trade screen to put another persons name and also say something with it. People have been scammed many times with people using this "method". VMK does not support this and they had it fixed at one time, but somebody must have found another way to do so. If you stumbled upon somebody doing this then please report them to VMK Staff using the "HELP" Line.

This has happened to me before only it was not as nice. There is some bug that allows you to type something and it looks like another person is in the chat. Someone did this to me saying they were VMK_Red and I was being banned… not very cool. If this happens to anyone you should immediately report them so this scam will stop.

thx for the link. do you think that could mess up my computer? could anyone else mess up my computer doing that? oh and could that yavn.rules person.. well they would have have to been in the same room as me, right? well i probably scared them off or the other dude i was trading anyway becuase i started screaming my head off when it happened...(in the trade and in real) lol maybe a little overeactive there......

There was no third person in your trade, you can type in somebody's name so it looks like somebody is there, when really it is just the other person.

It does not mess up your computer. All that happened is the person you were trading with typed something in a way that it looked like "yavn.rules" was in your trade. The only ppl in your trade were you and the 1 other person.

As for your screaming in game, ! The person who was trying to scam you probably got more confused by your reaction. Nice work. You avoided a scam.

Omg rotfl . This has happened to me before, but not as a scam. I was giving something to CL_Renpener for his new room he was making, and when we were in trade he typed some of the host names in. I was like going in skock . But then he was like joking with me the whole time.
