I should be thrilled, but I'm totally stressed now!!! I posted earlier today about getting a 30-35-40 PIN thru email. Well, I just checked our mailbox. What do you know? Our friend got a free quick service dining PIN code sent to our house! He went with us in Oct. and is going with us again in June. I haven't had a chance to do the real math on this and see if its better. Of course the website is down right now for booking packages.

Part of me hopes our resort isn't available for the dates we're going with the code so I won't have to stress over it. The other part of me is, of course, thrilled at the idea of saving more money

It's possible to upgrade to the regular dining plan for $10 per person/day right?

I feel so lucky to have gotten these PINs...I swear I'm not complaining...its more of an excited kind of stressed  I just wish I had all of this like 5 months ago!!

Yes you can upgrade but the cost is not always $10. In the summer months the DDP price tag is $47 per night so it will cost you $17 to upgrade. Which is the better discount depends on the number of adults in your party and which resort you are staying at. We are at the WL in a bunkbed woods view room. We have two teens so they are considered adults. For us the 40% was a better deal by about $40 per night. Now if you are staying at a moderate or value resort the free QSDP will most likely be a better offer. With the site being down you can still do some quick calculations. The QSDP is $31 per day for adults. Take this times the # of adults in the party to find your savings per day. Take the rack rate of your hotel times your percentage discount and then compare the two.

Wow, that's not a bad 'dilemma' to have!! I don't know what your specific situation is, but generally if you are staying value, the free QSDP is a better deal, at deluxe % off is usually better. Moderate would probably depend on the number of people (especiall adults) you have in the room. To upgrade to the standard dining plan it is $15 more per adult per day in the summer due to the seasonal upcharge ($46.99 per person) kids are a couple of dollars more

Thanks for the info. I had started to do the math on my own but forgot about the $15 upcharge for summer.

Curious...do all restaurants charge more in the summer? I estimated our meals...but now I'm wondering if we'll be paying $15 more anyway because of summer prices. Is it just certain places or buffets? Or everything?

The buffets do charge more in the summer/holiday, but that is if you are paying out of pocket. If you have the dining plan, it won't matter.
There is a new price for the dining plan in the summer months and holidays. I think the prices are listed on mousesavers. I am going to go check.
