And we are heading to Disney!

We fly on out June 3. How did that get to be so close? For so long it was some distant, abstract date and now it's almost here!

So what do I need to do??

It's too early to pack... the only thing I can think of is to make a list of all the stuff I need to buy before the trip and start shopping!

But I'm sure there's more I haven't thought about! What do you all do in the last couple weeks before WDW?

TIA for any suggestions!

Well, as much as a month prior to our trip, I set up our suitcases in the dining room and as I think of things I need to bring-I drop them in. When I shop for odds and ends that we are bringing, I drop those in too. It saves me from the last minute panic of wondering if I have everything or having to round it all up in one shot. The only thing that we wait to put in is our clothes (although bathing suits and towels go in well before). Never too early to pack if you have the room to put the suitcases out. ;)

We are also flying in on June 3. Myself (47), DH (47), DS (14) and DS (5). Our older son is about to start high school and the younger one is about to start kindergarten, so this is the summer for the "big" vacation. We are staying at All-Star Sports and leave on June 9. How about you?

As far as planning, I've got an ever-growing list of stuff to buy, pack, take with us each day to the parks, etc. And I'm on the DIS every day too! My only other trip to WDW was in 1978 . . . when you could still just call it Disney World because there was not Epcot, MGM, or AK. My parents took my older DS three years ago at spring break, but he's ready to go back and show his little brother around. :goodvibes

Another June 3 here. I am just starting to make lists of all the stuff I have bought and need to bring.

May 31 here:woohoo:
HAve already packed for the baby. Packed her diaper bag* collected all of my lists, plans and conf. #s in a folder*Made lists of what I need to do before I leave (like pay the cel phone bill)*made a list of what I have already packed, so I dont have to unpack, to double check:laughing:

I'm about to go crazy myself:banana:

Ugh! I feel so left out! :sad1: We are not planning on going again until September.

Another June 3 here, can't wait!! We have a box that we throw stuff in - if we got out the suitcases now, the dog would freak out ;) .
I keep busy by making stuff for the kids goodie bags, and hanging out on the DIS!
This will be our first time with the kids. It won't be relaxing like it is with just me and DH, but we've been planning this for several years and we are very excited! Also taking son and his wife, and he hasn't been since he was 10 in the mid-80's. We can't wait to see his reaction - he won't recognize it at all!
See you all there!! :wave2:

I feel like I am a major procrastonator(sp), we are leaving Saturday and I havn't started packing. I just finally washed the new clothes last night. On that note does anyone know how to keep clothes from getting wrinkled in the suitcase. I had the iron out for over an hour last night trying to make shirts look nice, and I don't know how to keep them nice. Thanks

Is there something special happening at Disney the first week of June?:confused3

We leave June 2nd:cool1: !!! I know what you mean about all of the planning...then here it is, almost time to go!

I have laid out 3 suitcases in our spare bedroom. We are planning on taking 5 (one just for shoes and odds/ends). One suitcase is currently full with food items...such as small cereal boxes, oatmeal packets, splenda packets in a baggie, snacks....that kind of stuff. I havel also went ahead and packed the girls' princess dresses w/ tiaras and wands (don't want to have to search for those last minute). I have several items that I have purchased new..such as toothbrushes and sunglasses, that we are not allowed to use until we get to WDW. That way I know they're packed.

As far as rolling clothes, my mother helped me last weekend w/ alot of my dh's clothes. I don't know how well they will stay wrinkle free, but I went ahead and bought a small, travel Downy Wrinkle-Release, just incase (yes, I know there will be an iron in my room...but that is reserved for only the most serious of wrinkles!!).

The other thing I'm doing is paying as many of our bills online as possible. I'm not posting some of these until closer to their due date, but this way they can be paid while we're on vacation.

Next week I'm going to call and confirm our airport transportation, check with the neighbor about her daughter mowing our grass and feeding our cat, and go over our packing list one more, last time. I'm waiting to do laundry for the trip until Memorial Weekend, but some of the stuff we can wait 2.5 weeks to wear.

Have Fun:cool1: !!! We're down there from 6/2 until 6/15!!!! People have told me that I will be sick of Disney by the time I return...and I say, GOOD. Because that is better than wishing we had stayed more days!!

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Ah, someone to mow the grass! I totally had not thought of that.

Thanks for all the replies... I can't wait to go!

I planned on the 31, since DD15s last daay of school is the 30th... Didnt take long to fig out that her finals are next week, and theres really no *need* for her to be there those last 3 days:rolleyes: Either way, it turns out that she's not coming anyway:confused3

As far as whats going on, the first weekend in Jne has always been gay pride weekend (or something like that) as well as the start of Star Wars weekends at MGM. Neither impresses me, or scares me away:confused3

We are leaving for Disney on June 4th. I am going to lay out suitcases this weekend and inventory everyone's summer clothing supply. I am going to pack suitcases and make lists of things that need to be done before we leave. I am going to the post office tomorrow to get the form to fill out to have the mail held while we are gone and going to the travel agent to pick up the travel packet Disney sent.

I hate this part. I can't really pack and get excited, but it is so close that I can taste it and worry about everything.

You can dowload and print the vacation hold form off of www.usps.com and leave it in your mailbox for your carrier. We have done this for years and saves a trip to the post office. :)

We leave on the 31st.....2 weeks!! Have started making my lists and gathering up the things we'll need. This weekend I'll be doing a "trial packing" to make sure suitcases don't go over the 50 pound max set by the airlines.....we want to take as few suitcases as possible, but need to see the max size I can take based on their weights packed full of stuff. Can't wait to get there.....I haven't been in way too long!!

Sounds like first week of June is going to be really crowded. We are also going June 2-8, staying at Sports. I have my list of what needs to be packed, and have bought everything I can think of. I have dumped all of that in a bag so it will be ready when I actually pack.

Okay...I sometimes forget that many other states get out of school so much earlier than we do here in NJ. My kids are going to school until the third week in June-although they don't go back until after Labor Day.

I'm not a SW fan, so I guess that's why that didn't pop into my head. Gay days...doesn't phase me either...I just go to Disney to have fun. :dance3:

You and I must be the same person. We will be there June 4 to June 7...have a "staging area" for all the suitcases and have been setting aside sacks of the stuff. Have done some trial ziploc rolled bags to see how bad the clothes wrinkled, not too bad, but have the travel downey wrinkle stuff. I'm working on the "snack suitcase" this week and going through what clothes all are taking to see if anything is missing. Making the remainder of hair things for DD and beginning the countdown. I can't wait! Trying to fend off the anxiety attack. Tasks for this week are getting the DVD player, dog tags for shoes, and cleaning the house, (have a thing of not being able to leave the house knowing that there is clutter around and stuff not put away) making my tags for the suitcases, stroller tags, green mickeys, packing the kids travel bags for the airplane...anything I'm missing? I can't believe it's down to 2 weeks!

We were suppose to be there on June 3rd, BUT my brother decided to get married(June 2nd), so we will check into the POP on June 5th-12th.
