I have seen several articles on how to age paper, but I did not pay a lot of attention:eek: . My daughter has to do a project on the Gold Rush. She needs to make a map. I thought it would be cool if I gave it an aged look. Can anyone out there give me some advice?:sunny:

I did this with the cub scouts a few years ago. To age the paper they were using I brewed some tea in a 2 c. measuring cup. Then we brushed it on the paper to give it that aged look. We were making a "document" and used watercolor paper, the texture was great. Before brushing the tea on, we tore the straight edges off all around, and the torn edges absorbed the color differently. They come out looking good.

You can also just use sand paper or a wire brush and rough it up all over - tear some edges
then apply brown chalk to give it the aged look :)

At a scrap convention, we used walnut oil. Pretty sure you can get it at Michael's or your LSS. ::MickeyMo

These are some great ideas. Thanks.
saturday97 what do you do with the walnut oil?

I think she meant Walnut Ink -
it comes in a powder form ( I got some in a Magic Scraps kit - so they probably have it at their web site )
you add one tablespoon of it too about 2 cups of water - wrinkle up your paper - put it in in the liquid -
pull it out hang dry and it gives it a great aged look -
