I noticed in the Passporters guide that the excursions have age restrictions....can anyone tell me whether these are strictly adhered to by Disney, or whether they are merely a guideline of suitability? We will be travelling with our son who will be 3 yrs old the week after the cruise....will they allow him on excursions with a 3yr old limit? Many thanks

I booked the Banana Boat ride for the 5 of us for our cruise last May. My youngest was 7. They made the reservations but when I got my confirmation in the mail, it was only for 4. I called and spoke to a CM who said your youngest is not 8 and cannot go. He was pretty bummed about not going so I told him I would cancel my reservation and we could watch the others. Well, when the time for the ride was approaching our oldest ds couldn't be found. When we walked up to the check-in area, I explained that we couldn't find our oldest. She looked at my youngest and said he can go instead. I did tell her that he was only 7 and I was told he couldn't go. She said "Well, he's pretty tall for his age he should be all right." So, youngest ds got to go and I didn't :(

For the most part I think Disney adheres to the age restrictions, not because they don't want to say no but because of insurance purposes. HTH

I do know they are somewhat flexible in the age ranges in the clubs. If the child is within 1 month 'of age' they could go into whichever club they wanted.

Maybe the same with the excursions.

I called and talked to a DCL rep about this. They said that the age limits are established by the supplier of the shore excursions and they deny having anything to do with them.

Most of the excursions that price children 3 - something, usually allow children on the excursion, there is just no price for them. The only way you'll find out is to call DCL and tell them. They won't bend if children under 3 aren't allowed, as previous stated, it's a limit set by the provider of the excursion for insurance purposes. And since they will know how old your child is, since they need your birth information, you can't say he's 3 to get him on the excursion.

Thanks. Does anyone have the e-mail address that I can mail Disney at and ask them directly what their view is on this? Many thanks

I called DCL this past weekend with this question before I booked for the Blue Lagoon in Nassau....The brochure said " Ages 3 and up"...I asked the CM if the age applied to going on the excursion or paying for the excursion ... after double checking, the CM advised me that that age range was for paying for the excursion, children under 3 were free.......I'd think your best bet would be to call down and ask specific questions.....
