Age question

We're heading for Disney in Nov. I have read that some of the restaurants now charge adult prices for children 9 and over. My son will be 8 (he'll turn 9 in Dec. so we just made it), but he is extremely tall for his age. He almost comes up to my chin (but I'm only 5'3" so I guess that's not saying much). I'm a little concerned that they might not believe he's only 8. Will they look at me like "yeah - right lady" or will they take my word for it. I don't want to have to whip out a birth certificate or anything. Do you think this will be a problem?

I don't think so. My dd was almost 3 the last time we went and she has always been big for her age. I was worried that they wouldn't believe she was younger than 3 when we entered the parks since under 3 has free admission. The CM on the phone said there would be no problem and there wasn't. Nobody batted an eyelash when we said she was 2.

my dd was 5' 0" last year when we went and she was only 9 years old and no one ever questioned that she was still a child... i do, however, carry photocopies of both their birth certs w/me, but have never been asked for them... what they might do is ask the child 'cause a child is less likely to lie when asked...

Nobody will even ask. I'm sure that there are people who take advantage of the situation, but we never had anybody ask when our Son was approaching the cut off age for free entry into the parks or free meals when at the character dinings. Don't worry about it....you will be fine.

i could be wrong but I thought that a child is considered 3-9. I have a 9 year old I believe (hope) I only paid for a child for our dining plan and MVMCP tickets as well as park tickets.. Could someone please clairify this for me. thanks in advance

The new age is 10 and older.

3-9 are still considered children. 0-2 are considered infants.

Hey, I thought Disney was for Children of ALL ages from 0-95.....doesn't that make all of us eligible for the children's prices??
