Age-old question...what days are best?

I am planning to do DL (2 days), DCA, Knotts, Magic Mountain, Seaworld, and SD Zoo over a 7-day period, beginning on Saturday and ending on Friday. I am trying to decide which parks would be best/worst to do on Saturday and Sunday during the last week of August (8/27 - 9/2). Any ideas?

Are you staying in one hotel the entire time? You'll probably want to plan them in order to save you travel time. Will you be driving or using shuttles? These are important factors since MM is a few hours north of DLR, and San Diego is an hour or two south of DLR. You're also not giving yourself any real downtime. 7 parks, in 7 days... :faint: :p

7 parks in 7 days sounds utterly exhausting to me too. I'd do Sea World and the SD Zoo on Sat and Sun because I don't think lines and crowds are such an issue there. You'll definetely want to do Magic Mountain on a weekday--I'd pick somewhere in the middle of the week. Weekend crowds there are bad. I agree that knowing what kind of transportation you have would make it easier. Public transporation here isn't the greatest and I can't imagine trying to get from the DL area to the MM area w/o a car. Getting to SD would be much easier (at least there's direct train service, though less frequent on weekends).

We will have a car. We might stay in SD the first two nights and then stay in the Anaheim area for the last 5. I thought it was only about an hour to MM; how far is it really? Personally I am not interested in going there, but my daughter wants lots of big roller coasters on this trip. How many are there at Knotts? Maybe I can talk her out of MM if I offer to take her shopping at DD instead. :D She is 22, and we have two sons ages 13 and 24. We are used to not having much down time at Disney. :faint:

I've driven from DL to MM in 1 hr 15 minutes. But that was a Sunday morning, with no commute traffic. I love MM, it is the best coaster park in CA, with 15 coasters. It's been a long time since I've been to Knotts, so I can't remember how many they have, but they've got a great wooden coaster.

Knott's has several coasters. Ghostrider is the big wooden one and is the best coaster I've ever been on. They have a new inverted coaster called Silver Bullet, but I haven't had the opportunity to ride it yet. There's also Xcellerator (0-80 in 2 seconds, then straight up over and straight down 200 feet, plus a couple of overbanked turns). Also there's Boomerange, Montezuma's Revenge and Jaguar. Boomerange and Montezuma's are both fun, but Jaguar was boring.
