Age of magic bands?

Is there a way to tell the age of a magic band? I have 13 magic bands, and I'm starting not to know which ones are too old for the long distance RFID. On MDE app I have new ones listed way below the older style, so I know they are not listed newest to oldest. I will start writing dates on them from this point forward, but I also color coordinate with outfits and may need to use some of the older style.

I find that the color fades with age. Perhaps that can help. Also, the earlier bands were styled differently from the more recent ones. (even width at the front). we have ours labelled with things like "45th anniversary", which helps us with the date of the trip.

I always buy ours and add the year in the name imprinted on the band. For example I put Shelly19 for a band used in 2019
