Age limitation

We are going to WDW June 21 - 28. At that time, one of our boys will have just turned 6 and the other will be two months shy of 3. My wife and I have both to Epcot a long time ago as kids but we have never been as adults with children. I've been reading up on Epcot and it seems that my 2 year old (who will be almost three) will have to sit out most of the rides. I see that Maelstrom has a minimum age of 3. I'm wondering if it's worth trying to sneak him on. And also, is there some sort of play area at the end of the ride that he could go to with one parent while the other takes our 6 year old on the ride?

Mydaughter has been on Maelstrom when she was only a few months old. The last time she went on it was she was 20 months.
I have never heard of the age minimun on that attraction and I have never see CM's inforcing it either.
The only ride that I do know has a age limit is the racing cars in MK, at that is one.

Our trips to Epcot with kids consist of: 1 with a almost 3 year old, then again when he was 3 1/2, then 2 kids, 4 1/2 and 1 year, then 4 kids, 7, 4. 2 and 2. It was one of our favorite parks- second to MK. I really think there is so much to do for kids of all ages.

I have never seen any restrictions on age for any rides. Only height restrictions. Both of my boys have ridden Maelstrom at two years old. I don't think you will have any problems. :)

Yes, Maelstrom has an age restriction posted outside of it (we saw it on our trip in December 2007) but we ignored it and took our 22mo son on. He was fine.

Epcot was my 5yo son's favorite park by far - you'd be missing a lot, especially with your 6yo (who cares a lot more than your baby) if you skipped it!

TIP: While your 6yo is riding Mission Space and Test Track (possibly over and over again like my DS5), have the other adult take the 2yo over to Mexico and ride the boat ride over and over again. It's a little annoying (though not as much as Small World) but my 2yo absolutely loved it and begged for more and more and more!

Thank you all for this info... I feel better now. I know my 6yo is going to love Epcot and I want to be able include my 2yo as much as possible. So it's good to know Epcot is enjoyed by all ages. One other question... I see there's a height restriction of 40 inches for Soarin'. Does anyone one know if by "height restriction" they mean only if riding alone? In other words do you know if we could take my 2yo on if we put him on one of our laps?

No lap children on Soarin. Height limits are absolute - your 2yo will not be allowed on any rides where he does not meet the height limit (same goes for your 6yo, too).
