Do any parents out there have ideas on what age a child should be to go down the big slide at stormalong bay? I believe there is no minimum age so long as the slider can swim out at the end, but it is a long and dark slide. I'm debating whether my 4 1/2 year old is ready for it (she thinks she is), but would love input from any other parents out there to avoid a possible bad time for her. many thanks in advance for any input.

Unless your child is a good swimmer she will not be able to on the big slide. The current at the end of the slide is strong and the life guards will not let anyone who cannot swim go on it. When DS was 6 he tried it and I had to pull him out of the water before he went under! (No going down with life jackets on!)

But there is another slide on the other side of the boat that is for the younger children. It is open (not in the dark) and the kids can ride alone or with an adult. Your DD will do just fine on that one.

Hope you have a great time!

can adults go down the slide by themselves? my wife and i are planning to go next week and (maybe) a stupid question but we just didn't know if it was meant for little ones only.

No problem with adults on the slide. Go and enjoy!

In '99 my 5yo and 8 yo girls had a blast on the slide. Both were excellent swimmers, so the current wasn't the problem. One of us would go down the slide first, then the girls, and then the second adult. The beginning of the slide is no where near where it ends! And they did go on the little slide, too. Have fun!
