age for kids menus

How strictly does DLR enforce their policy of kids menu items being for ages 3-9? I know at a counter service I can go up and order whatever I want, but at a table service, BB specifically, will it be a problem for my 10yr old to order off the kids' menu? There is not anything on the adult menu he would eat, not to mention he doesn't yet have an adult-sized appetite! I know at WDW they did not mind if an older child ordered off the kids menu, but I've never faced this situation at DLR before as my kids were all still within the official kids' menu age guidelines on previous trips. We are doing a character breakfast and I know I will have to pay the adult price for DS 10 for that, I was just not sure about a restaurant such as BB where we order off the menu.

For a restaurant with a separate kids and adults menu, your 10 year old will be fine eating off of the kids menu. Disney is very understanding that certain kids won't eat certain stuff (especially at nicer restaurants).

My DD11 ate off the kids menu at BB in July. It wasn't a problem at all. She ate off the adult menu at Ariel's Grotto because we had already paid for it but the server seemed a bit surprised that she was ordering big kids food. LOL I'm sure it won't be a problem at all.

They let my 17 year old order off the kid's menu at BB, and I saw an adult order off it once there too.

I've eaten there several times and they let my DD10 or myself eat off the kids menu. Usually my DD will order a kids item and I order the monte cristo, but she ends up eating half (she loves those sandwhiches).

I always try not to gorge myself, because we like to get dessert there. Love those pirate themed desserts!!

You won't have a problem at all.

I think my kids will probably both be ordering off the adult menu's next time we go (aside from chicken strips which were good) the kids menu food was awful. My daughter ordered the mac 'n cheese at French Market and it was so bad (sorry ) the noodles were sooo overcooked that you couldn't even feel them in your mouth!

Was it just a bad week when we were there, or is the kids menu food generally not so yummy?

Generally the kids menu food is not so yummy!! Especially the mac & cheese  .

When both my kids were younger, they usually split an adults meal since they didn't like a lot of the kids offerings. My DD does still like the chiken tenders.

At the Disneyland hotel, the kids menus at Croc Bites are good and I always order a kids meal. Most of the sit down resturants have OK choices for kids, but always stay clear of the mac & cheese.

Oh good....I'm so glad I'm not alone in that opinion!!

You're not alone. We feel the same way as you. The food on the kids menu is just kinda yucky.

DH and I will order 2 adult meals and share them with our boys (8 & 4), or we'll order 3 adult meals and our boys will split one of them. We don't do this at places that charge a split-plate fee though, which frankly I think is absolutely ridiculous, especially at Disneyland! Being charged EXTRA to share an adult meal with a child?!?!?! TOTAL GOUGING!!!
