Afternoon arrival time

I need some advice about our arrival time. Last year we arrived late in the evening and just stayed at an airport hotel for the night and arrived at OKW about noon to check-in. Airline flight times have changed a bit since then so now we will arrive in Orlando at 4:30. I figue with luggage p/u and a 30 minute grocery stop, we will probably arrive about 6 or 6:30 p.m. at OKW. My question is, do you think we will still have the choice of a decent room or will the selection be just what is left after all the early check-ins? Thanks for your input and advice.

What time of year are you talking about? Generally I don't think 6:00 P.M. is too late.

we are cruising down from jersey and staying with snowbird friends at the villages in lady lake on 2/11 so we can head for okw on 2/12 - am told the drive to orlando takes about an hour - is it to our advantage to arrive early and check-in? we've got oodles of options re what to do on a sunday afternoon in orlando [will bet we play mini golf!], so having the room ready when we arrive is not important...getting a preferred unit is the real goal!

Our trip is scheduled for the last 2 weeks in June. Busy I know but still doable I hope.
