....I REALLY want to go!! :rotfl:

The last time I was at the world for Christmas I was 5! And only went to MK! I would love to go and see all of the different Santas in WS and to see the Candlelight Processional! Anyone know if the prices for the week of/after Thanksgiving are higher than they typically are in the summer???

Value Season starts 11/25/07 and is cheaper than summer season!

Go for it!

What timing. I just finished watching this on video tape about 5 minutes ago. :teeth: I want to go over Christmas so much! Watching this made we want to do it even more.

THAT'S when the crowds get bad. I was a sucker once and went to Disneyland the week before Christmas and it was a nightmare!!!

If you plan to visit and leave before Christmas Day, it's not bad at all. The about 10 days that include right before Christmas and the few days after New Years Eve, are really, really crowded. Other than that, any time in December has the decorations up and the place is beautiful.

We went two years ago December 16th - 23rd. I thought it was super crowded even during the first part of the week, but it was so much fun!!! We went to MVMCP and toured a few of the resorts.

I saw that show, too, and I REALLY want to go next year!!! What I'd really like to do is take a solo trip during the week after Thanskgiving - wonder if my daughter would mind staying with her dad and stepmom while I went to WDW?? I've taken solo trips before, but only while she was at camp.

I really want to see those Santas, though!!! When she is in college (7 years from now) I'm going to use part of my DVC points to stay at least 5 nights in a 1BR villa at the Wilderness Lodge each year in December, right after Thanskgiving. That will really put me in the Christmas mood!!!

When I was watching with my daughter, I told her if we went over Christmas it wouldn't be about the rides and stuff. It would be to soak in the Christmas festivities such as the Epcot santas and the tree lighting ceremony. I think I could deal with the crowds (I hope I could).

I hear different reports about the week before Christmas. Some have said its not very busy and others have said that its busy. I don't really care! I'll be there the 14th through the 23rd and I'll enjoy every minute of it - crowds or no crowds! :cool1: I'm used to the summer crowds anyway! It was cheaper for us to go in December than it usually is in the summer.

Yeah, the Samantha Brown thing did it for me too. I am hoping to go at Christmas some day! I enjoy the other times we go but maybe just ONCE want to see all those Santas in Epcot. :thumbsup2

That show only got me more excited! DD and I leave on Tuesday for a week and this will be the first time that we will be there in December. I can't wait to soak in the atmosphere!!!

Christmas time is now our favorite time to go. I have realized that Christmastime to my dh means the week of christmas literally and there is no way I would ever go then. We leave to go to Disney the monday after thanksgiving week end. This was our 2nd year in a row this time. We pull the kids out of school for a week, its private so the teachers dont say too much. Even one of the teachers went a little after us. The weather is much cooler and the decorations and atmosphere is great. We always do the candelight processional, this year we saw Hohn O'Hurley and he was great, much better than Hayley Joel Osmet, whom we saw last year. and Mickeys Very Merry Christmas Party and this year my 2 teen ds got to see Beyonce taping her christmas part for the christmas parade right in front of the castle, 2nd row and great pictures. Cant beat that. It was much more crowded than I expected, so I hate to see what it would be like really closer to christmas. The 2 ds even got to do some swimming in December. awesome.

Definitely going to do some investigating into prices ;)

When exactly do all of the decorations/festivities start? Is it right after Thanksgiving? If everything goes well *crosses fingers* I should be in graduate school next year and I'm thinking that the week of Thanksgiving would be the best time for me....especially since its probably less crowded than after Christmas

This is our favorite time to visit, we usually go either the first or second week of December. I've always heard the decorations go up right after Thanksgiving, and I thought I posts on the DIS that some were even up during Thanksgiving! You'll love it!

How long do the decorations stay up til? We're there starting the 29th and I'd love to still see some of the decorations and things. We taped the special too and we're keeping our fingers crossed!!

I've been over marathon weekend twice which is the first weekend in January (ususally), and some if not all of the resort decorations were still up. I think most of the park decorations were still up because I remember looking at the decorations at AK, Epcot, and MK.

Holidays at Walt Disney World is on again tonight at 6pm ET on the Travel Channel for those who missed it :woohoo: After watching it i also would like to visit....i think i would go either the week before Thanksgiving or the week after...not sure...any thoughts to which week is better crowd wise?

We love Disney during Christmas. We were there exactly one year ago. Watching Samantha Brown's show brings back great memories and we hope to do it again. I definitely think it's worth it even though the crowds are horrendous.

If I'm not mistaken, though, "Holiday season" starts around December 20. We booked for December 19 for that very reason, so we could lock in value rates for our stay! :goodvibes

I don't have the travel channel, nor the food network :(

Anyone know if I can find these videos on youtube or google?
