Well time is rapidly approaching. Black Friday is less than a week away! I know that my store is opening at 8am - pretty late for Black Friday but hey, I'm a Hallmark store - I'm not gonna sell TV's for $9.99..lol

I've seen that KB Toys is opening at 5am and Rack Room Shoes (next door to me) is opening at 7am. MAN, I don't know if I could be in shopping mode at those times! (Besides, I could always send Obi-Wan out to shop that early for me, right??? ;) ) Well that and I've already finished my Christmas shopping. :teeth:

So who is heading out at the crack of dawn to do some Christmas shopping on Friday? Anyone have any heads up on what will be on sale in the stores? I can only tell you what the corporate Hallmark stores will be doing that day (we finally caught on that you need to have sales..lol). What's your Black Friday game plan?

I love to shop on Black Friday but I won't be able to this year cause we leave for WDW Thanksgiving night. I've already warned my mom that if she wakes up on Friday and I'm gone, I'm out looking for the nearest Walmart!

I'll be up and out early, if its not snowing! Hoping for some good sales!!

Yes, I will be there... depending on how good the sales are.

I've been Black Friday'ing for 10 years now, and for the past few years the sales aren't as good as they used to be.

I have also seen a trend that some stores are starting their BF sales earlier.. for example in todays paper the Macy's ad stated.. "Day After Thanksgiving Sales Today"... (this Sunday)

I have mapped out stores, brought ads, created spreadsheets... and cased out stores the Wed prior to Turkey day to determine where things are...

I have half kidded my husband that we should get a set of walkie talkie and communicate within the store, to make this a true team effort.

I have seen the net advance copies of BF sales and I jpersonall am not that impressed. So far, I 'm not certain if anything is truly what I need or want right now.

I am a very informed consumer so I can tell when an item is on a "true" sale, or if it is just an average price. Sometimes the FAR (free after rebate items ) are worth trying to get, but mostly, I'm in for good deals on quality items..

You all just need to stay in bed. Because of you nuts getting up so darn early I have to be at work at 5:30 that morning. :p Our store opens at 6 that friday.

I'm usually up at 430 am, most days anyway... so to me getting up at 5 is sleeping in! Its amazing what you can get done before 6!

I get up at 5am everyday for work anyways.
I enjoy black friday shopping
I've seen this ads online already and don't know if I'm going out or not.
Nothing really grabs me.
I may try to order online. I think most places you can get the same prices online.

who knows I may change my mind yet.
Hey I was at Kohl's at 6am yesterday because they were giving out $15 gift cert to first 500 customers.

MeanLaureen, I'll be back up in Richmond visiting my family for Thanksgiving, which Hallmark store are you at? My mom and I already have our plans for Friday shopping. We're planning on hitting Best Buy, Kohl's, Target and maybe one of the new malls on Black Friday. Last year the crowds at Best Buy were insane. That will probably be our first stop depending on what's in the add.

We love hitting the early bird sales that day, mostly because we've already gotten most of our shopping done for others. That's our chance to get a good deal on something for us.

Have fun shopping everyone!

Since my usual time to be up on a Friday is 4:45 and I dont have to this Friday there is no way Ill be up then. ;)
Besides all I have left to buy for Christmas is gift certificates and candy...and make some baked goods. :teeth:

My dd told me were getting up early to battle the crowds. I'm thinking I might oversleep though.;)

ROFL! Sounds familiar. :p

I'm an early riser naturally as well, so I don't mind getting up. I look forward to Black Friday every year, I always manage to get what I go for, and I really don't mind the crowds. My husband, on the other hand, would probably kill someone if he were subjected to any more than 10 minutes of that madness. I have the patience of a saint when it comes to saving a few bucks, its sort of like a game to me to see how much I can save each year. :)

Ok, so I am not the only nut in the world.

I was up at 430 yesterday for the Kohl's 15 card.. hit three stores up! (3 Different Kohl's!)

to get ready for work.. :( .... doesn't appear like i'll be doing any shopping....

I'll be up!

DD and SIL and I will head out around 5 hit some stores ( haven't seen ads yet) then we will meet up with sister and her crew for breakfast!! It is a yearly tradition! Women only NO MEN or KIDS

I've never been able to get up that early the day after Thanksgiving to make it in at the right hours. Hmmm...must be that stuff in the turkey that makes you sleepy! Maybe I'll try for it this year.

I manage the Hallmark at Willow Lawn. Not much of a shopping area when it comes to the big stores. We are more of a downtown area M-F store.

If you are in the area, stop in and ask for Lauri! I'll be the tall stressed out redhead ;)

Where are you guys finding these ad previews?

This will be the first year in ages that I won't be out there on Black Friday! My Mom always stayed with the kids but now she's gone. :( So since my DH knew we wouldn't be out that morning, he volunteered to work (for O.T.) which is a good thing but I know I'll miss shopping on BF! It's insane to bring kids out there with you & we have no one to watch them.

My DH & I are normally at KB Toys by 330am on line & we're about the 50th+ people on line!!

Lauri, we used to go to Willow Lawn all the time when my grandmother was living right down the road. It's kind of sad that a lot of the big stores have moved out in the last couple of years. Your Hallmark is awesome though! I hope we get a chance to stop by.

We'll be stuck in the West End nightmare most of the morning. Last year there was a traffic jam getting into Best Buy at 6:00am.

I want to know where everyone's getting the adds on-line too. Can someone please post a link? Thanks!!

My Mother and I will be out there.

We don't go for the freebies or anything though. In fact if we see a huge line to get into a store, we'll usually go someplace else.

We also go to a shopping mall and shop there. We aren't big fans of running all over town that day.

Have fun everyone!
