i read somewhere :confused3 for the life of me i can't find it again -- but that when the Magic drydocks in October the conference rooms will be converted to additional kids club areas - for those ages 12 - 14.

i know the conversoin of the conference rooms has been posted multiple times so i'm confident in that info -- anyone else have more info on the 'tween spin???

I would very much LOVE to see the 'tweens seperated from the high-schoolers

My DD will be 13 when we cruise this November so any opinions, fact or speculation, please feed my need for planning obsession

She will be very disappointed if the Stack is not an option for her at all! Hopefully they'll have to 'tween time.

I don't know if it is meant for just tweens....but on the repo cruise the DCL president said that they would be turning it into a simulator for children to feel like they are piloting the ship themselves.

This is the list I saw posted:

On the upper deck of the ship they are adding a jumbo tron type display so that they can show movies under the stars and also enhance the sailaway parties will be 24 feet wide and I think 15 feet tall.

The conference rooms are being eliminated and replaced with more childrens areas, they will be computer simulations and actually allow the kids to pretend to dock the ship.

On Castaway Cay they are adding swimming with the stingrays

Here is the post that reported the changes after drydock:

Some of us were HOPING it would be a 'tween' area.

Actually, I have mixed feelings about it. Since they don't offer a 'tween' area, and I don't want my 13 year olds in with older teenagers, we have decided not to cruise for a few years until my twins are older.....BUT....if they do make a 'tween' area, I am sure we will find ourselves booking another cruise (there goes my retirement money! :earseek: ).

I apologize in advance for my ignorance, but when does the Magic go into dry dock? For how long? Did I read somewhere that they are completely re-doing it? I am watching fascinating show on TLC abt the dry dock and renovation of an RCI ship, the Sovereign of the Seas.

The Disney Magic will be in Dry Dock from October 1, 2005 to October 14, 2005.

We watched the TLC Drydock show last night... very interesting!

I also am hopeful for the Tweener club. There is a big difference in a 13 and a 17 year old! DS will be 13 on our next cruise.

I would be very happy about a tween club. On our May cruise, my DS(12) wasn't nearly as happy with the clubs as he was when we sailed last year. We rebooked for May '06 and I can't see me putting him with the teenagers. The difference between a 13 yr old and a 17 yr old is too much!

At least on the Magic there is "some" seperation of the ages of the activities for the teenagers. They have 13-14 activities and 15-17 activities AND there are activities for the entire age range.

My DD chose to celebrate her 13th birthday on the Magic. We had no problems at all in The Stack. The activities are split somewhat into a 13-14 and a 15-17 group. Granted, we sailed off season, so there were not tons of teens.....but she loved it, and I had no concerns after meeting the other teens she was with. Don't miss the "Gotcha" game.

She did get a little bored in the Lab on prior sailings....at age 11 and 12.
