Hi everyone! I have a 9:50pm reservation for Oga's in January, but the park closes at 9pm. I know Oga's is open later, but what if we don't make it to Hollywood Studios by the time the park officially closes at 9pm? What if we get there closer to 9:15/9:20pm? Does anyone know if we'll be able to enter the park after closing time since we have this reservation? I've done reservations at in-park restaurants after official closing many times, but I've always been physically in the park at closing. I've never tried to arrive to the park after closing for a late reservation, and I'm wondering if this will be a problem.

you won't be able to enter the park after closing.

Thanks. I kind of anticipated that answer but I was hoping the policy would be similar to the old pre-opening breakfasts in the parks where you could get in early provided you had a reservation...but in reverse :).

Highly highly highly unlikely. I would make a point to be at the gate by 8:30 to ensure you get in.

Why would I have to be there at 8:30 if the park doesn't close until 9? Do you think security lines would be bad at that time of night?

I think security will shut down before 9 tbh. Could be wrong. May want to ask on the theme park board if anyone knows. If there was no penalty then show up a minute to 9. But I would be there early, the crowds leaving will be difficult. On the plus side you will know how a spawning salmon feels swimming upstream

Glad you asked this. We also have a reservation there after 9pm . . . after dinner in EPCOT 😬

Hi, I also have an Oga's Cantina reservation for after-closing (9:15 pm) (so excited I got a reservation there!) and I'm going next week so I hope it's okay I jump abroad this thread :)

Thanks to everybody who has answered so far -- very helpful. I'm planning on going to MK in the day and park hopping over in the evening, probably around 5 pm or so, riding rides, then going to Oga's.

So... what exactly happens when you are at the park after hours?
Are the rides still going?
They won't accidentally lock you in the park at night will they (kidding but not kidding)?

I wish I'd have known they had reservations that late. I absolutely would have done an after hours one.

Any chance they'd take walk-ins that late or is it probably still slammed?

When are you going on your trip?
I would try for a reservation. Keep checking every day to see if there's openings.
I got super lucky, the first time I checked I saw a random opening for Oga's at 9:15 pm, it was the only thing they had, I booked it.
I doubt they would do walk ins after hours because, ya know, it's after hours.
Hope you can score a reservation!

December 11th-18th. Not quite insane Christmas rush, but looks pretty busy. I got two oga's resies that week, but early in the day. I've had a little luck on stalking reservations to get some other things done, but hadn't been looking at a late oga's. I'll just start stalking that too.

Thanks!

They will let you in the park as long as you can show your reservation. If security approaches you just make sure you have your app open and show them the reservation. We’ve done this numerous times and never had a issue, I try to get my dining reservations after park close, it’s so peaceful and quiet when leaving. Also you get some really great photo opportunities.

We did a park closing ADR at MK in January. My family wasn't wanting to spend all afternoon in the park, so we went back to hotel at 4. At 620, park closing at 7, we got to the bus stop, waited 10 minutes, then got to MK bus stop at about 10 til 7, but sat on the side waiting for the bus picking people up to move. I think we got to the entrance of MK right at 7. We were able to get in and get to the restaurant, but it was definitely nerve wracking waiting on that bus not knowing how long we'd have to wait. Everyone was asking us if we had a dinner reservation, kinda funny going in while everyone was leaving.

Security runs all night at the entrance to the parks.

Just following up here. I called and was told by a CM that security is there all night and we will "absolutely" be let in after the park closes as long as we have a reservation. I know YMMV with CMs, but she seemed pretty confident. It wouldn't negatively impact our trip THAT much if we didn't get to go to Oga's (we have been before), so I think we are going to try arriving after closing and see what happens.

The ride queue stops taking guests at park close. Rides still might be going- but that is to accommodate guests who got in line at 850pm for a 9pm closing.
Bathrooms are open- and depending on staffing, gift shops MAY stay open for an hour (or two) after park close.
Disney transportation runs for 1.5-2hours after park close.

A phone CM who likely has no firsthand experience with this. I personally think the advice you’ve gotten here is sound. It’s not like they’re saying get there hours before the park closes. Worst case scenario you get to ride one more ride.

meremac - Thanks for posting this question. It didn't occur to me to try for an ADR after park closing. I've wanted to go to Oga's but was always worried that it would "get in the way" of experiencing bigger things, like rides. This is the perfect solution. I now have a 9:10 PM ADR booked!

I can attest that we left Magic Kingdom at 10:05 pm on Friday night and two people were going into MK through security at that time (park closed at 10). We also did Savi’s at 8:45 for a 9pm closing, my youngest son and I did Aliens at 8:55 and the. Went back to GE to wait for my husband, FIL and two sons to be done. There were still people waiting for droids and sabers at 9:30. Also, keep the Oga’s!! My kids didn’t like the smell at first but our party of 8 was all happy with the drinks and my 9yo loved his Carbon Freeze. We had low expectations for the food but ended up ordering a second order of Batuu Bits.
