Have other Aussie families with 4 (or even 3) kids stayed in Vegas...

Having a hell of a time organising accommodation for our 3 nights there.

We would really rather 1 room as I understand if we get 2 rooms they are very likely not going to be next to each other as 'requests' are handled at check-in. I think I'd be abit worried if we are too far apart...

So please hit me with your experience if you have a big family, or any advice even :)
We are hoping to spend less then $600 for the 3 nights and dont have to be right on the strip but would like a great pool.

When I first started looking at this trip I thought Vegas would be our easiest and cheapest booking... kind of working out the hardest!

Hi we are going to Vegas in march with only 2 kids though but we are staying at the platinum suits just off the strip maybe try there? We are staying for 7 nights and costing us $1400aus:) you can get a 2 queen bed suit with sofa couch if that would work and another bigger suit too.
Apparently the building was build to be apartments then someone backed out and made into hotel so rooms are good size. No casino.
Also try the Hilton grand vacation club at the flamingo which is behind the flaming hotel and no casino. Bit mode $ the the platinum but close to strip.

Both The Carriage House and Desert Rose Resort have 1 and 2 bedroom accom, non-smoking, and casino free. They don't have great pools though. Both appear to have good reviews on tripadvisor. I have not stayed at Desert Rose, but will be staying at the carriage house early next year.

There is also The Jockey Club, pretty sure they have apartments as well but again no great pools.

We just stayed at The carriage House, short walk to the Strip, small pool overshadowed by bigger hotels-definitely not a resort style pool if one was after that. We had a King room but just stayed the one night. Kitchenette had everything we would have needed had we been there longer (small fridge, microwave, 2 burner hotplates, toaster, kettle, coffee maker, sufficient crockery, pans etc), 2 seater couch, desk that doubled as counter top and 2 chairs. Not a lot of room but OK but not sure what size their bigger suites are. Shower was very hot and powerful (practically stripped the skin off of you!). There was a guest laundry almost outside our door on the 6th floor (I think). Staff seemed friendly. We liked being away from the chaos of the Strip and no casino or smoke or drunken idiots. Walgrens supermarket is near the hotel, just up on the corner of the Strip next to the Miracle Mile Shops. It was also easy getting in and out of the carpark up to the Premium shopping outlets and to the airport using Paradise Rd which runs parallel to The Strip. They are in the process of renovating though so there might be noise for the next 6 months The room and corridors did look tired and old and in need of a refurb but they were clean just a bit battered.

Sounds great Aussie Wendy, it has taken me ages to decide on Vegas accom so think I've made the right choice for us. Doubt I will see the inside of a casino anyway lol.

Oh and whilst we didn't need help, the concierge gets a lot of praise and she seemed very helpful and friendly to those seeking her out, as we walked past. We would stay there again if we happen to need accom in Vegas.

Yeh the casinos don't do it for us either though its morbid fun to watch people drop $100 chips in 5 seconds on the roulette or poker tables. I don't mind some of the other attractions there but I do get frustrated at the difficulty and time it takes to get anywhere as the sidewalks take you in and out through casinos and up and down across the roads and it is always so crowded, especially at night with drunken carousers.

I've just returned from Vegas with my 4 kids (15,14,13,10) It was second time for them, 5th for DH and I. (We hired a car)
We stayed at Tahiti village for 5 nights at end of strip (south).
Walking distance to premium outlets and across road from supermarket.
We had 3 bedroom apartment. Was huge, clean quiet and included washer/dryer and two kitchens. There was a kid room with ping pong/ pool etc, great BBQ area, lazy river and large pool with lots of activities.
Shuttle bus to strip was regular and always on time.
I highly recommend this property. Previously we have stayed in four seasons, trump and bellagio. Whilst Tahiti certainly isn't luxurious it is spacious and perfect for bringing kids. Have fun!
