I've had this on my TO DO list for a few years now, but I keep pushing it back as it never really was that important. Well after my last physical my doctor told me that I should go get tested to see if I am allergic to Shellfish as apparently ERs use iodine in alot of the Xray dyes, and that it is the iodine in shellfish that people are allergic too. Now my Mom and Grandmother are allergic to shellfish, so I have never really tried shellfish except a deepfried shimp here or there (deepfring cooks out the iodine).

Well I went to the Allergy Clinic today and I am not allergic to shellfish. So I need to tie on a bib and let the butter run down my chin at an all you can eat seafood buffet.

Whoooohooo! Great news. We LOVE shellfish here. An allergy would be tragic!

Don't do an all you can eat seafood buffet in Orlando. Nasty places. :guilty:

Cape May is a good place for clams, mussels and shrimp. Not a full complement of lobster, crab, oysters and the like, but it will get you started. :D

Best bet? Head to Maine or if in a real pinch, Boston. ;) :goodvibes

mmm native cape cod lobsters!!!!! go get crazy!!!

Shellfish..............yuuuuummmmmmmmmmmmm!

So very happy for you! Enjoy!

I'm allergic to shrimp (and I'm assuming lobster and crab as well, but have never tried to find out). The weird thing is I can have mussels, oysters and scallops with no problem. :confused3
