After 2yrs without Disney, we're going back to POP!!

I booked preffered room. I haven't stayed in a value for long time. The last time we stayed at POP about 5yrs ago and our experience wasn't very good. People in the pool after midnight had a terrible room. Very noisy neighbors. I could go on. So, please tell me I made a good choice. We are going for MNSSHHP.

We stayed at POP for one night last August and that was enough for me. The values are just way to overcrowded for my taste, and I personally don't care for the layout at POP with the foodcourt and gift shop in the same space, makes it very chaotic IMHO

I have stayed at POP once ten years ago. Never again! Way to crowded and the noise level was way over the top.

In fact it was my experience at POP which put me off hotels in general. If I am traveling alone I tend to stay in hotels catering towards the buisness traveler. They tend to be more sedate though not always. There is often the odd conventioneer who has had too much to drink at the hotel bar.

For family vacations especially at WDW we rent a villa. All that room and somewhere to relax. Even on our trips to Europe we tend to stay away from hotels and rent apartments. My family and I travel several times a year and I really cant remember when the last time was we stayed at a hotel as a family.

Sorry to the OP but I cant recommend POP. How about OKW...?

We had a standard room in the 90s area facing the pool, ground floor, in June. No problems/noise at all. The preferred area seemed loud, in my opinion.

I would also book a standard room, requesting a view of the lake. Hopefully there won't be too much disruption from construction at Animation Suites.

As for did you do the right thing: for one person, maybe two, a room at Pop might be okay. There's no way I'd do it with any more than that, personally, but I'm jealous of my space.

stayed there last summer for the 2nd time in 2 years, we preferred it to the rest of the value resorts. they are all busy/loud at breakfast time, but there's nothing you can do about it.... only dislike was the took out the slushie machie, DD was really upset, but got over it... it will be fine.

We're going back to POP after 3 years away--can't wait! Our son graduates this year (high school), and he chose POP. I agree that you might want to save money and go with standard room--you'll have to walk a little further to get to food court etc, but it will be quieter! I'm requesting lake view--didn't get it last time, but we can hope for it this time.

In future years, I'd love to go back to mods/maybe even deluxe, and I really wanted to try staying off site this time (Bonnett Creek or Sheraton Vistana), but couldn't convince the rest of the gang!!
